Last place of individual rights

Montana seems to be the last bastion of individualism and freedom. The state is refusing to cave in to the feds' demand that it implement the national ID. Chernoff, Homeland Security director, is threatening all kinds of bad things if Montana doesn't go along.

"If it does come to a head, we've found it is best just to tell them to go to hell, and run your state the way you want to run your state," Governor Schweitzer told National Public Radio. Basically, thumbing its nose at the feds, Montana has decided to defy the federal government. Long a state that resisted the 55-mph law, drinking and driving, seat belt use and motorcycle helmets, Montana has in the past caved in when the feds threatened to withhold federal highway funds. No more.

You've got to admire a state with less than a million people who have the guts to tell Big Brother to stuff it.

Good for Montana. Nice article

Congratulations to Governor Brian Schweitzer for making an intelligent decision to stand against the jack booted thugs of federal homeland security. My congratulations to the legislators who passed a law against the federal government.

Now why can't Ohio be more like Montana?

Feds !
