I don’t use my real name (though many people know who I am), because I don’t want retaliation against me and my family.
I’ve written a few editorials in the Blade, I’ve come home to find my answer machine filled up with some right wing nut ranting about how I’m wrong.
If I had to post everything under my real name here, I’d never post again.
Many years ago I wrote a letter to the editor of the Blade that was published. I honestly never expected people to actually look up my phone number and call my home.
Thankfully all the messages left were nice, and voiced agreement with my letter but it still freaked me out a little as a single parent.
I haven't had a publically listed phone number since then.
Considering some of the posts made here by a few of the posters I'd be fairly concerned about them knowing who and where we are.
The State of Kentucky obviously wants to know who said what, so they can reward the poster for their honesty and candor.
The representative is exactly right in saying it'll be a challenge in enforcing the law. This is virtually an unenforceable law. Politicians are ridiculously stupid when it comes to internet issues.
That will never pass/be enforceable.
We all should use our given names. I am Don Wert, the guy who took James Kirk, Spock and crew members up to warp speed time and time again while those two shared a couple of yuks in the command center. Being a victim of a child kidnapping, if using my real name to validate the trials and tribulations I've endured because of it and it changes the mind of one person from stealing another's child, then it was worth it.
It also reinforces the experience I've had with a "personal vendetta" by the Toledo Police chief because of that situation, so that too validates my using my real name.

I've typed out on several occassions where I've gone out with friends to my favorite local watering hole.
And seeing I had to hold this dolt's hand and correct the many mistakes this research freak had on me, it appears I've given him enough to "want me" enough to bypass more bountiful vacation destinations to bask in my presence.
But this should be the example needed to provide the proof that there are sick losers out there that want what you have because their own life sucks, as it is in this case.
