I sure hope all the credit card Republicans at least had airline cards so they

...among other things, are these:

1) The White House and Congressional Budget Office (meaning everyone in D.C.) don't see Social Security and Medicare as "obligations" because they can be cut or eliminated at any time. Yeah, right, like that's gonna happen. And since elimination or cutting them would be political suicide (though perhaps the only option, eventually) they should be counted as liabilities.

2) Again, the decision makers in D.C. have put rules into place for everyone EXCEPT THEMSELVES to follow...

3) If we all got a notice of how much the 'debt' was costing each of us, do you think we'd be more involved in stopping frivolous (or unmandated) spending?

Funny you should ask. Here's an interesting article on how the debt affects us:

Also, they don't include the war spending in the budget deficit do they?

Matt,

Sell our debt to somebody else?

... Besides, economically speaking, there's nothing wrong with it. What is China going to do with that money except use it to buy things from us?

Shane....soon to be conservative "free market" republican. Work it Tax Boy!
