Seriously, nothing personal, but I could give a shit less about fat monkeys and soccer playing goldfish. Chris, I hope you clean this stuff up, or you can drop me off the list of members to this site.
I thought this was a breaking news and political blog...

It's all well and good to tell people to skip the posts, but the pictures are unavoidable. Can charlatan, um, I mean littlered, take a break from posting inane stories lest we become as useless and irrelevant as ToledoTalk.

I asked Mr Myers to change the comment-tracking so that I could track a larger volume of postings easier. He implemented his own idea about that, but the move is on to make SB handle a larger volume.
So why would we complain about seeing more postings? Just filter it all and read like an adult would.
And speaking of doing more postings of breaking news and politics, Tpsteacher24, why are you bothering to post about THIS, instead of posting about you teachers now going through your union's phone tree in your preparation for a strike?
POST ABOUT THE TPS TEACHERS PREPARING TO STRIKE ... if you are at all lucid, that is.
Interesting for GZ to bring this up: As I dropped off my daughter's permission slip to participate in next year's Horizons Program @ Keyser, there was a small group of teachers talking about the upcoming strike (some were debating that there'll be no strike but they were in the minority in this group).
If littlered used the groups set up by Chris, we wouldn't be having this conversation. Anyone interested in seeing "funny" stuff like truck balls legislation or fish playing soccer can subscribe to the group to view the posts. Free speech is preserved and those who choose not to opt in no longer have to scroll through a bunch of detritus.

tpsteacher, please READ the site rules, and you will know how chris feels. if you were paying attention, you would know chris has already talked about this a few times lately. freedom of speech is a beautiful thing.
it's the middle of the day, shouldn't you be teaching, and not blogging? i always hear from my friend of mine, who's a tps teacher, how hard it is to get all the material she needs to get covered during the school day. it's a good thing you don't have that problem. freedom of speech is a beautiful thing isn't it.

Fred Lefebvre and Troy Neff will each be discussing the merits of Soccer-Playing Fish tomorrow morning, podcasts to be posted soon after.
Telling Chris to clean it up or drop you? Shit!! Stand up for yourself, you dont need Chris to drop you, you're a big girl - drop yourself!
Or just do what the rest of us do for boring posts - Ignore them -
Good Lord, admin edit: next part is not needed bad word
Chris didn't like my post on photoshop and took it down. I guess it's better taste for him to attack stainbrook daily.
whatever
that? I have raised legitimate questions about Stainbrook and have not been anywhere close to what you did. All that this post was to make fun of another user and that is not welcome. If you keep the posts on the issue and raise legitimate questions you will not have to say "whatever" ever again.
It's your website you can do whatever you want.
tps teacher24, perhaps you thought wrong (why would you assume it's political? It can be, but it's not the sole function.) . I assumed that SB was supposed to be an ongoing reflection of what was going on, & on people's minds, and there have been non-serious, often silly articles posted here since SB came to be. Those silly, non-serious articles often provide a 'break' after reading pages upon pages of TPS gripes & banterings, Carty complaints, and lately, an endless supply of wspd Fred & Troy updates. I originally thought they were excessive - but I also know that many people aren't able to listen to the radio show at that hour, and may appreciate being alerted about the topics. There have also been many times, when littlered's articles provided a few much needed smiles, a break from the often hostile, angry or boring comments posted. Kind of like life - SB tends to reflect some serious, some good, some bad, some boring, some intriguing, some silly things to think about. I've enjoyed many of littlered's articles - not all, some I skip over - but many have provided a much needed smile & break from the nastiness that can occur here between users. As for the pics posted - somebody complained? Oh, my God, pics will burn your retinas out? If this is the worst thing you have to gripe about today, count your blessings.
Billy is correct - your demand to Chris to '...clean this stuff up, or you can drop me off the list of members to this site.:" was arrogant, and childish. Chris has stepped in to 'clean this stuff up" far more often than I think he needed to, or should have - but it's his site & I respect his decisions. He expects posters to be civil, not to be trolls, or hijack threads with obscenities & insults - but the content has been pretty much left to the users. Those users who aren't happy with the topics, can simply not read them, or skip this forum completely. There's been a few times where I simply 'exit' the site when it's nothing but more of the same TPS & Carty bashing - or I just scroll past them until I find something that interests me (it's called freedom to choose.) If Chris laid down hard & fast rules about what may or may not be discussed or posted here, then I"m afraid it would border on censorship, and SB would lose far more users than you, tpsteacher24. You do NOT need Chris to '...drop you off the list..." - drop yourself, simply don't bother with SB at all.
This is a bit disturbing to me that a teacher would promote censorship, and not be enough adult minded & mature enough to exercise their freedom of choise by avoiding sites they were unhappy with - rather than childish demands to the site's owner to 'change the site or I leave'. Very arrogant. I would have expected more from a teacher.
feature will help improve this. It is a news site, odd news is a part of that. I want to make sure the odd news does not overwhelm the news that has meaning to everyone, but things improve and there will be growing pains :)
It would at least be a little better if the "odd news" were even remotely locally relevant.
There are plenty of places you can go specifically to find "odd news." Really...check out this Google compilation of dozens of "odd news" sites: http://www.google.com/Top/News/Alternative/Odd_News/
Sometimes I even look at those sites on my own. But that's not why I come *here*...I come here to see stuff about my community. Maybe an occasional story about issues around the nation/around the world, but mostly stuff that's relevant locally.
I've been mildly irritated about the garbage that has been cluttering this site for awhile now. But, ultimately, Chris has the final say and we have to accept his decision. I just think its a shame that a site that *could* be beneficial for local interest/local issues is turning into such a crapfest.
(Sorry littlered...nothing against you personally. Just think your habit of littering the site with those stories is a little excessive. IMO, daily posting of those stories...even if you post "only" 2 a day...is too much for what is supposed to be a local interest site.)
i only post 2 odd stories a day, and find it funny to hear some people who hardly ever post stories complain about the content of this site.
I sure would like to know how you do those pictures.
are very interesting. Do you have a public album on flickr we could visit to see the complete set?

- Just the KAT, thinking out loud again.
<
purnhrt, and krazy kat,
i graduated with a graphic design degree 9 years ago and right after got married and pregnant. i got out of doing it to stay at home with my boys, now i'm trying to build up a portfolio again. the site i use flickr for many of my better ones, but there are also one's in there to go with my thought or mood of my posts. unfortunately, a few weeks ago my 2 year old little angel deleted about 1500 of my photos, so i'm trying to replace what i had lost. it was the case of my husband and i thought the other one backed up the pictures.
as far as getting a picture for yourself i had my husband look at what krazy kat had done and he figured it out for me. now, all i have to do is copy and paste over what he had programed. krazy kat might be a better help for that. i'll warn you that some people have a problem with posting picture with your post. i'm not sure how this why it is such an issue, but oh well..... it goes back to the freedom of expression i guess that's a hard concept too.
purnhrt,i'll email you. i don't want to seem like i am soliciting on this site. i just wanted to capture my thought in a photo.
Nothing is every really deleted on a computer. It just dpends on how much you want to spend to the the pics back.
my husband is good with computers. he did recover about 100 of them for me using some software he got off the internet. i guess my little guy also kept emptying the trash can, so there were pictures erased on top of other pictures, which made it more challenging. it's a good thing my little guy is cute and a mommas boy. :)
littlered is very good at capturing animals & kids, and I've seen some of her photos outside of SB & they are excellent - lots of talent. I wonder if purnhrt was wondering how littlered captured the animals & dogs so well (poses) - I wondered that myself, a gift & lots of patience probably. But littlered probably could give lots of pointers.
littlered - I can only imagine that pained "Oh, MY GOD........" feeling when your 2 yr old deleted the pics. We've probably all had that 'Oh, damn" feeling of loss when we lose something - but photos are hard to lose. Would flickr have back-ups? Or, if you sent your flickr files to family members or friends, then they'd be able to get them back to you maybe?
littlered I have every email you ever sent me. I'll load everything I have up on a disk this week for you.
Starling - you are just brilliant.
