Has anyone seen the new "Toledo Pride" signs at the city entry points? I just saw one at the Secor/ Bancroft intersection and was wondering if they had been replaced in other areas. I didn't get the greatest look at it, but it was blue in color and stated "International Award Winning City" (or something close to that).
If these signs have been or are going to be replaced citywide, WTF?!?! Where does that exactly fall on the priority list in relation to potholes, deficits, etc, etc?
the signs are before the flowers. somewhere at the bottom are the potholes and street issues. let me guess it has carty's name in big bold print on it too.
As a shock to no one, Carty does have his name listed on the sign.
what did this cost? And how many potholes could have been filled? Oh slap me up the side of the head for being so negative!
Can anyone think of a single benefit to the city by allowing polititians to put their names on signs paid for with tax dollars? Even if you can get past the stupidity of them, with term limits they will be guaranteed to be obsolete in just a few looooooooong years. I would vote to make the practice illegal.
I agree with you. It's simple trophy-making and ego-stroking at the expense of us. It's an absolute abuse.

the problem with covered bridges is carty could put his name, face , and whatever he'd like all over it. TONS of advertising space all for carty.
Your "International Award Winning City" sign on Secor coming from Michigan lets me know when to slow down and start DODGING POTHOLES.
