Ohio ends 'plain sight' handgun provision
Municipalities can't toughen restrictions

The Ohio legislature passed the gun-law change by overriding a veto by then-Gov. Bob Taft, the only such override during Mr. Taft's eight years in office.
Which should tell the anti-freedom politicians of Toledo something about constitutional rights and citizens becoming fed up with legislators and their draconian ideas that prominently feature the words
Statistics dont back up what Navarre is worrying about.
will fight to the death the rights of gun owning, law-abiding citizens. It figured grinning idiot Taft would veto the legislation, proof positive he was a liberal RHINO.
Glad the state politicos had the balls to overide him, but indeed a pity they didn't do it on just about EVERYTHING this swine vetoed.

In World War 2 we fought (and defeated) the Axis. Today we're afraid of cellphones, smokers, and cheeseburgers. It's about at the end, people.
It's about time Toledo politicians got slapped down on this one. The only guys their gun laws helped were criminals like Jobe, who could run around feeling confident nobody would be able to hinder THEIR threatening use of firearms.
It's good to see that people realize how fundamentally wrong it is for a city police chief to advocate disarming the citizenry. Of course, if he doesn't advocate that, Carty will just fire or demote him and find another spineless dweeb paychecker to support his gun-grabbing, so-called Liberalism. Navarre's simply choosing between a larger paycheck and the US/Ohio constitutions.
On the brighter side of this bright news, an appeals court or something has FINALLY struck down the unconstitutional gun ban used in Washington DC -- after 20 years! The only dissenting opinion from the judge panel relied on the idea that DC is NOT a state -- NOT that gun ownership is inherently illegal. It's great to see people obey the US Constitution. After all, it's the law of the land.
We still have to deal with Chicago and San Francisco, however. Both cities have draconian bans and I consider them to be NCZs (Non-Constitutional Zones).
:-) It's only the law abiding civilians that follow the gun control laws. So where there is gun control - the ONLY thing you can bank on is that the people who do have the guns - are in violation of the law.
Criminals with guns vs. unarmed populace of victims.
Now you tell me,,,,WHY do you think those are the cities with the 'highest' crime rates? I've got a cat that can figure that one out.
if robbery were your intent - would you go to city a. where the bank tellers, clerks or anybody else may be packing a gun or b. where the bank tellers, clerks or anybody else was not supposed to be armed?
Neither does common sense, but that hasn't slowed down Navarre any.
I've never been able to understand why firearms are prohibited or restricted in the most dangerous areas in the US. When I'm travling in a dangerous area and most likely to need a gun, it's illegal for me to carry one.
Naturally, the criminals can't read...
