Here we go again, just when you think we have someone thats turned away from the progressive model...

Mayor Bell wants to raise water rates, next will be taxes and whatever else he can do to balance the budget. Bell is a one term Mayor, he will do whatever it takes to balance the budget regardless of what the people have to say. Same with Collins, just when you think he is on the right track and makes sense, he proposes a 30,000 donation to the symphony, Progressivism runs this city......Don't be fooled by that Independent affiliation, that (I) behind their names, especially when making suggestions like raising water bills and giving away 30,000 dollars of our money....

Wow! Obama as well as the Mayor, Gerken, and the School Board still really don't get it...

Obama still doesn't get it, a Republican 60 seat swing including his previously owned Dem seat in Chicago ,and he gets on TV and says the results of Tuesday election were because we (Obama ) didn’t do enough fast enough. This guy is really out of touch.

New rules for our garbage again...

Has anyone read the declining readership of what was once a great newspaper? Anyway, these clowns in city government can't even get the trash issue figured out. No more than 1 pick at the curb a month, no eviction pickups, ect, can you imagine what this city is going to look like.

Police vs Trash Cans

First of all, it was adding a shower to the Mayor's office, bad idea. Then it was going behind city council's back and purchasing Erie Street Market ; followed by visions of all the money that would roll in once the Civic Center was completed. Again, another bad idea which failed. Next, it was forcing a recycling plan on the genral public by adding yet another fee for trash pickup'; with those who did not recycle paying the most. This too failed, and the recycling cost the city money.

Republican Mike Bell?

The street is buzzing like Jim Moody's cell phone with talk of Mike Bell running for Mayor as a Republican. Ex-Mayor Donna Owens is advising Bell and ex-GOP boss Bob Reichert and party financier Bob Hadley are hosting regular meetings of Bell supporters (including Betty Shultz) at Reichert’s Dorr Street Cafe. Some believe that Bell is looking at the Mayor's race as a launching pad for a run for statewide office and sees the Republican Party as the most logical vehicle for his ambitions.

Should Bell run as a Republican?
