I learned on his show how to make blue dye when I was a little kid.
Then promptly spilled it on the living room rug!!
he was another one of those people I'd thought were already dead.
Man, he really had a long life, hope he wasn't in bad health for the latter part of it. I used to watch that show every Saturday as a kid.

I just learned that he died after a long bout with cancer. My sympathies to his family. Don was one of those people with the uncanny knack to make you feel you knew him personally just by watching his show.
