Read this article about Redford Schools (Redford borders the City of Detroit), and thought it sounded interesting.
I hope TPS officials are paying attention to what results this program brings in Redford - if the results look promising, perhaps they can implement something similar.

Some of the TPS high schools do this already. They call it Freshman Academy. They don't segregate students by floor or wing though. I think (but I'm not sure) that Bowsher has this program. Libbey used to have a Freshman Academy but dropped the program when it changed over to the small school structure.
I hope that they are. Segregating them, at least a the beginning of the year might not actually be a bad thing, since high school can be so overwhelming at first.
