You would think that in a college area you would have a higher number of smart people, but the former Democrat chair of Athens apparently has taken a page out of the Jon Stainbrook book of politics, which is to threaten lawsuits against those who you don't like in an attempt to bully them. While leaders such as Larry Sykes, Carty Finkbeiner and Jon Stainbrook love to try to bully people into submission, things can only go so far. It is quite clear that Ms.

Still on the Job, but at Half the Pay
By LOUIS UCHITELLE
MECHANICSVILLE, Va. — The dark blue captain’s hat, with its golden oak-
leaf clusters, sits atop a bookcase in Bryan Lawlor’s home, out of
reach of the children. The uniform their father wears still displays
the four stripes of a commercial airline captain, but the hat stays
home. The rules forbid that extra display of authority, now that Mr.

Kasich Announces 88 County Leadership Team
Jon Stainbrook is not the local leader. One wonders if his calling people and threatening the Blade or other things on them has given him a radioactive reputation around the State. For someone who said he was the top call center in the area, one wonders why he was snubbed.

Larry Kaczala knew not to take Tom Noe's money, but why did WSPD's Maggie Thurber decide to?
A week before former President George W. Bush was to come to Columbus for a fund-raiser in October, 2003, Tom Noe invited Larry Kaczala to meet him for breakfast at the Toledo Club.
Noe, a top fund-raiser for the Bush campaign, had an agenda for his meeting with Mr. Kaczala, who then was the Lucas County auditor and the county government's only Republican officeholder:
The former GOP power broker wanted Mr. Kaczala to help him make illegal contributions to the Bush campaign.

Stainbrook wins another Irony Award for the few things that made me chuckle:
