Judge Keila D. Cosme of the Sixth District Court of Appeals will file her petitions to retain her seat on the Court of Appeals today at 2:30 p.m. at the Board of Elections on the Third Floor of One Government Center.

Judge Cosme was appointed to the Sixth District Court of Appeals by Governor Ted Strickland on October 30, 2009 following the untimely death of Judge William Skow. She took the bench on November 16, 2009. She is the first Hispanic American to serve on any of Ohio's 12 district courts of appeals.

Area high school mock trial teams and University of Toledo paralegal students will get a first-hand look at the justice system when the Toledo Municipal Court holds a special session at The University of Toledo Thursday, March 26, from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m.

Judge Michael R. Goulding will commence court in UT’s Richard B. and Jane McQuade Mock Trial Courtroom, located in the Health and Human Services Building, Room 1419.

Jon Stainbrook is not the local leader. One wonders if his calling people and threatening the Blade or other things on them has given him a radioactive reputation around the State. For someone who said he was the top call center in the area, one wonders why he was snubbed.

During the last months of this election, I personally have been disappointed in the way that individuals in the Republican party have presented themselves and their personal beliefs. I have stated on this blog and Glass City Jungle that I vote for the individual not the party and am an Independent voter.
