Social Security to start cashing Uncle Sam's IOUs

By STEPHEN OHLEMACHER
Associated Press Writer

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (AP) -- The retirement nest egg of an entire generation is stashed away in this small town along the Ohio River: $2.5 trillion in IOUs from the federal government, payable to the Social Security Administration.

It's time to start cashing them in.

For more than two decades, Social Security collected more money in payroll taxes than it paid out in benefits - billions more each year.

Facts and Fiction About House Bill 428 - remove the $20 late license plate renewal fee

Over the past two months I have received many calls from constituents objecting to the new $20 late vehicle registration fee that was implemented by House Bill 2, the biennial transportation budget. When this fee was first brought to my attention during the debate on HB 2, I had to admit that I was perplexed. I already thought it was illegal in the state of Ohio to operate a motor vehicle with expired tags.

Bell should go after Carty for the $450,000 he cost the city

If Toledo is in such dire straights why don't Mayor Bell go after Carty for the the money
he cost the city to settle the lawsuits? Bell is putting everything else on the table including
raising taxes. Carty had a lot to do with creating this budget mess in the first place.

Also, there is still some fat that can be cut, namely Board of community relations. This is just a racist department that no longer belongs in this city or in our society.

Plans for Sunrise call for a steam-assisted gravity drainage project, where steam is pumped into the earth to loosen up the tarry bitumen in the oil sands so it can be pumped to the surface in wells.

Husky and BP also co-own a refinery in Toledo, Ohio, which is targeted for US$2.5-billion of retooling work so it can run the oil sands-derived crude.

Strickland, House Democrats Gamble With Education Schools Targeted As Political Pawns Throughout 2009

COLUMBUS— One year to the day House Democrats took the majority, State Representatives Jarrod Martin (R-Beavercreek), Seth Morgan, CPA, (R-Huber Heights), and Gerald Stebelton (R-Lancaster) summarized the 2009 legislative year as time of unfunded mandates on schools and damaging funding cuts to poorer districts, charter schools, e-schools and Catholic schools.

Washington Times reports in-depth on the questionable PMA donations

I am including Marcy's name on the tag because some of these donors show up on her lists.

A retired Florida couple would appear an unlikely source to have given $83,000 in campaign donations over a five-year period to members of Congress from all over the country.

Both in their 80s, they lived in a $118,000 Daytona Beach house they didn't own; they each voted only twice since 1992; and they seemed to lack the financial means to make the contributions.

Mayor Finkbeiner Insulted Blacks - Million Dollar Lawsuit

The Toledo Journal is reporting online that Carty insulted blacks, and one of his top aide's confrims this!

The Journal is reporting that Mayor Finkbeiner made insulting remarks about black men and probably about black women. Mayor Finkbeiner turned down a recommendation to hire a black man because he would be "crucified" if he had two minorities serving as co-directors of the city's Youth Commission.

Kaptur says yes to raising debt limit, Latta says no

One has to wonder why Marcy complains about China owning a bunch of our debt when she 1. gets 3.5 billion to vote yes on cap-and-trade, 2. raises the debt limit to continue to finance out-of-control spending. But who ever said she made sense? Bob Latta does not support raising the cap, below is his reason.

===
WASHINGTON- Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) made the following statement today after voting against H.R. 4314, a bill that increases the limit of public debt held by the United States to $12.3 trillion.
