Individuals with conservative ideologies are happier than liberal-leaners, and new research pinpoints the reason: Conservatives rationalize social and economic inequalities.
Regardless of marital status, income or church attendance, right-wing individuals reported greater life satisfaction and well-being than left-wingers, the new study found. Conservatives also scored highest on measures of rationalization, which gauge a person's tendency to justify, or explain away, inequalities.
The rationalization measure included statements such as: "It is not really that big a problem if some people have more of a chance in life than others," and "This country would be better off if we worried less about how equal people are."
To justify economic inequalities, a person could support the idea of meritocracy, in which people supposedly move up their economic status in society based on hard work and good performance. In that way, one's social class attainment, whether upper, middle or lower, would be perceived as totally fair and justified. ..............................

After all, more liberals would be unhappy at where our current gov't is leading us. That would also explain why conservatives in this area seem less than happy.
If this survey is taken in a year or two, after a Democrat is in the White House the results would probably be just the opposite.
In short...
Liberals give a shit...
Conservatives don't...
to enlighten us on here with his valuable insight regarding this topic.
Which group (Conservatives or Liberals) is the most likely to push to ban things, and thinks government needs to protect us from everything? Which group is more obsessed with Global Warming & thinks we're all doomed? I tend to not like labels - I see similarities in all the groups, but I'm not crazy about the R & D, C & L labels as 'it' - there are lots of people who don't fit into those pigeon holed groups.
Both liberals and conservatives want to ban things – it just depends on what we are talking about.
Conservatives think it’s the government jobs to product you from-
• Birth control
• Gays
• Foreign people (brown ones)
• Flag Burning
• Porn
• Sex
• Cheap Canadian Drugs
• Nail Clippers on Airplanes
• Public Schools
Conservatives truely think the government exists to protect corporations from YOU.
Liberals think that the government should protect you from-
• Arsenic in your drinking water
• Lead in your children’s toys
• Nuclear devices being imported into our • ports
• Predatory Banks
• Wall Street hand outs
• Oil Company Ass Raping
I could go on forever…
Liberals may obsess over Climate change, but Conservatives obsess over Muslims.
John Stuart Mill said it best…
"Conservatives are not necessarily stupid, but most stupid people are conservative."
Which group (Conservatives or Liberals) is the most likely to push to ban things
Like flag burning, gay marriage, abortion, etc?
Which group...thinks government needs to protect us from everything
Like al-qaeda, Hugo Chavez, immigrants, Muslims, etc..?
Which group is more obsessed with Global Warming & thinks we're all doomed?
Like global warming deniers (Glenn Beck, James Inhofe, Patrick Michaels, et al) who think our economy will be destroyed if we take measure to curb greenhouse gases?
Conservative are happier then liberals because ignorance is bliss.
because their values are in opposition to what is morally right. So, there's always an unfillable void with them. Also, for some reason, they're always trying to get "approval" from those (conservatives/traditionalists) who disagree with them. Liberals are not a content people....they always need to have approval from others to give some validity to their immoral value system....however, liberals never can validate their values....because back to square one....they go against the laws of nature.
Liberals aren’t looking for approval, we’re looking for tolerance.
Against the laws of nature?
Helping the poor
Protecting the Planet
Against the war in Iraq
Laws of nature my ass…you are truly a hateful person. What makes a liberal unhappy is the injustice and bigotry in the world. Conservatives are unhappy because two men want to have sex in their own house.
All you and your “faith” do is judge.
I’ll put my value system up against yours any day and stand before the deity of your choosing.
What, exactly, is the immoral value system of liberals?
you explain the liberal immoral value system, explain what must be the converse you are implying: the moral value system of conservatives.
