TOLEDO, OH — The Toledo Young Republican Club will hand out flyers Saturday, December 20 letting residents with homes for sale know that the Club will shovel snow at their properties to offset the recent increase in Lucas County’s real estate conveyance fee.
The growing public debate over economic development in Lucas County is heading for a vote.
Frustrated over what he said is a lack of urgency to create jobs on the part of the Lucas County Improvement Corp. and its chief executive officer, Shawn Ferguson, County Commissioner Ben Konop drafted a resolution establishing criteria for measuring their development efforts.
Shawn Ferguson entered the Lucas County commissioners' chambers yesterday as a bearer of good news: A local company receiving a tax abatement volunteered to donate money to Toledo Public Schools and Spencer Township.
