But the world is also facing more dramatic rain storm events such as the flooding which hit Britain last summer, scientists war
(I was interested in the story but I noted the date...how does that happen?)
European calander dates are noted it this format: day/month/year
I have never seen that..
Just like the Brits to insist on day, month, year when describing time. What kind of 1-2-3 reasoning is that? And even though they drink their beer by the pint, they insist on pumping their "petrol" by the liter. Good Americans know how many pints go into a gallon. Can an Englishman tell us how many pints, or fraction thereof, go into a liter? And it still bothers me that, 64 years after we saved their butts from Nazi invasion and domination, the Brits continue to drive on the left-hand side -- just to piss off any American who might want to visit and motor around.
According to my son, most of the world uses the metric system & drives on the left side of the road - and that our country is the exception to the rule, rather than the norm.
big trouble if I had to remember to drive on the wrong side of the road....I can't remember when I go into a room why I even went in there half the time.
Our new cutting edge Lucas County "Roundabout" will reduce carbon emissions by doing away with inefficient red light waits. And unimaginative Lucasites & Ludites will feel their way into safer intersecting. I want to do away with urban Raceways [2 lanes each way] to see who reaches the next red light first.
Surely, we prefer to enter the Second, Third, & Under Worlds on equal footing.
