I received a press/media release this morning from Karen Shanahan, a candidate for District Two for City Council on Glass City Jungle. I don't normally cross post material anywhere for candidates but I do feel it's very important that the public, especially the residents of District Two be aware that this property is once again being put up for sale. If you are interested in attending here are the basic details:

I posted an update on Glass City, I have spoken to Councilman Rob Ludeman and he is opposed to the sale of this property. It also appears there are some questions as to should the sign selling the property have been placed there. Councilman Ludeman stated there was a procedure agreed upon after the last attempt to sell the property in 1999 that City Council would be given thirty days written notification prior to any attempt to sell land like the River Road property.
I've left a message with Mr. Ferrara and will update if I learn more.
I have spoken with Mr. Ferrara and updated for those interested in following this topic.
To briefly sum up - the sign on the property is to solicit proposals rather than to arrange an outright sale. The Planning Commission and City Council would have to agree to a zoning change since this particular property is considered park land before a sale could happen.
