....all they have to do is amend the $10,000 limit to exclude any payments to attorneys outside the law department of the city. Apparently, they aren't as sure about this as the article claims.
Council will do the same thing they always do in the end back the Mayor. We must always remember they are the puppets and he is the puppet master.
The Mayor, whomever at the time the person is, is the Cheif Executive and leader of the city.
When a claim is laid out, it is against the city and not the Mayor personally.
Council will act to stop competent outside consultants to improve the chances of the case being settled and possibly absolving the city of all claims?

And the Law Director has stated that in the city's best interest, the attorneys on staff are not well versed in EEOC complaints.
We would want the city presentation to not be put forth with the best team possible.
But then again, how did we get?
The Chief Executive should have, and should in the future, do as any other Chief Executive would do, use the system and processes, instead of being in the trenches and driving around and spotting what appears to be problems where there is none or making comments to and or about people that come back to haunt us.

What makes you think Carty will not try to get around this billing issue by asking each lawyer to invoice him seperately ? Thus avoiding the 10K limitation.
Why on earth isn't there a Civil Rights lawyer on the staff?
