Sad. Its unfortunate that something couldn't be worked out - not necessarily for the Dad's sake, but for the little girl's. He's scheduled to begin a work release program in August, but the girl won't likely make it until then.
(Yes, if he hadn't gotten into trouble in the first place, he could have been there this whole time for his daughter. But I still feel sympathy for the kid though.)
If that dying little girl isn't extraordinary enough to mean moving up an already planned move by just a few months I don't know what is.
I understand and agree with your thought that if he hadn't gotten into trouble but its also not like this guy just started serving his sentence either, He's on is last year and in six months he'll be moved anyway.
This is very sad. I hope that the powers that be change their minds, quickly.
Update to the story...
The dad was allowed to have a brief visit with his daughter this week.
She died the next day.

This just breaks my heart and many across the nation. I am glad she was able to see her father before her death. The one who suffers when adults make bad choices is our children.......
I'm glad that they allowed that little girl one last visit with her father.
How sad that such a young life was cut so short.
