Cheryl Catlin Announces Candidacy
for Toledo Public Schools Board of Education

Toledo, Ohio. Cheryl Catlin will hold a press conference to declare
her candidacy for the Board of Education, Toledo Public Schools.

As a community and education advocate, I have researched areas that
Toledo Public Schools can explore and implement to improve the quality
of instruction across the district. My campaign will focus on areas of
concern and best practices, present data, recommendations, innovative
solutions and models that work (within Toledo, state-wide and
nationally).

My campaign motto is: "Catlin for Quality Education, Every School,
Every Child". Effective members of the Board of Education, must
collectively and openly discuss ideas and solutions to establishing a
more productive and successful environment for all Toledo Public
School students.

Our community has some very important issues to address regarding the
quality of education and seeing students through a successful school
experience from K through 12 grades and beyond. During the campaign,
Toledoans deserve to have an insightful and honest conversation about
education that provides factual information and data-driven plans for
success.

The "Catlin for Quality Education, Every School, Every Child" Campaign
will deliver a 3-point plan for success that focuses on solutions.

1. Promoting Quality Education at Every School, For Every Child
Addressing the quality of education that TPS should deliver across the district

2. Effective Communication and Community Engagement
Improving the level of communication between families, school staffs
and the greater community

3. Responsible Business Operations
Continued improvements in the area of business operations to seek
greater efficiencies for the development of a district-wide long-term
financial plan that ties school improvement plans to key areas of the
budgeting process.

Date: Wednesday, August 1, 2007
Time: 10:30 AM
Location: Kent Branch Library, 3101 Collingwood Blvd.

The media is respectfully requested to be present.
