An interesting article appeared in Variety and the Toledo Blade and WSPD were mentioned.

Let's face it: TV and radio stations rely on the local newspaper for most of their news. So what happens to those "rip and read" broadcasters as print staffs shrivel amid the draconian layoffs strafing the newspaper industry?

No mention of who signed up Mr. Arthur even though Blade reported Mueler was at Stainbrook's press conference. Story inferred that Joanne signed up and supported Mr. Arthur.

Has the Blade gone too far in their reporting on Stainbrook? My 10 observations

Tagged:  •    •    •    •    •

Right now there are two things that are making people shake their heads wondering what is going on. 1. Why is Carty for some odd reason not wanting to help one of the best development opportunities in a long time-the Intermodal at the Toledo Express airport? And 2. The coverage the Blade is giving to Jon Stainbrook.

Editorials support the Intermodal - yet silence from City leaders

Tagged:  •    •    •    •    •    •

Everyone seems lining up in favor of the intermodal. The silence coming from City Council and the Mayor's office is quite deafening. When will Toledo's leaders take proactive action and begin to pave the way for this? They sure took action to say they did not want the State to take money away from the Turnpike. Why is there an odd silence coming from the City leadership on this issue?

Discussions On Race At The University of Toledo - May 22, 2008

I attended the Discussions on Race at The University of Toledo on May 22, 2008. I found the discussions to be juvenile and insignificant. The only thing that got accomplished is that everyone agreed there is racism in America, but no ne had a good definition of what it is. Does anyone know what it is?

Why no thread about Marc Dann? Or are Democrat scandals passe?

"COLUMBUS - Democrats promised to hold themselves to a "higher standard" in 2006 as they rode Republican scandal into office, so some are openly questioning whether the new Democratic regime has surrendered the moral high ground with its first major scandal."

I happened to come across this article at Editor and Publisher tonight. Ok it is 20 days old, but still, it is interesting to say the least.

Diane doesn’t believe that Charles Fackelman should have received that much time. Listen to her interview with Troy where she explains what happened in the jury room and why she decided to vote guilty with mental illness.

It takes only four steps but they
cannot be approached lightly, said Allan Block, chairman of Block
