In fact, minutes after it interviewed Mr. Stainbrook, The Journal received an e-mailed statement from GOP official Matthew Bartow quoting Mr. Scotland as having given up.

4. Click on "Ohio Election Calendar 2008" and find the deadline you want, such as the one that says candidate substitutions should be made by 4PM on 8/20.

In an unprecedented mistake, the Lucas County GOP failed to get Jan Scotland on the ballot for the November election the Toledo Free Press is reporting as well as Fox Toledo. More details to come. Apparently the deadline was today and the paperwork was filed late.
This just in: LCRP endorses Jan Scotland for Commisioner. See the attached press release. There will be a press conference scheduled for Thurs morning at One Government Center at 10:30am where Jan will detail his platform. Jan, like many other taxpayers, are tired of the commissioners "pet projects". That taxpayer part was my editorial :)
If it is on the Internet, I can find it. So when the patriotic song by Jon Stainbrook mysteriously disappeared, I took it upon myself to see if it was anywhere else. And by golly, some admiring myspace fan posted the song on their site and if you feel patriotic after listening to it, you can share and embed it on your site because that user of course had permission to post it....right?
I read with great interest the Blade today. What was really interesting was the photo of shredded paper without any context. One wonders why it was added and looks strange compared to the rest of the article.
The second thing I noticed was what appears Jon to be saying that Board of Elections members should not be paid. Jon does this mean you will decline to be paid if you get on the board?
While on vacation, Patrick Kriner took some time today to talk to Troy about Stainbrook’s push to have him and Lynn Olman removed from the Lucas County Board of Elections. Kriner said that he plans to stay on past the upcoming elections. Also, Garrick Johnson, a democrat on the board of elections, gives his opinion on the board and explains what actually happened with the envelopes.
I received this via e-mail from someone I trust. There are an awful lot of questions that will never be anwered to my satisfaction from both Stainbrook and the former heads of the LCRP.
This Monday at 7:30 Fred LeFebvre has as a guest on his number one talk show Jon Stainbrook recently elected Chair of the Republican Party. He should not bring a softball bat. Phones will be open if time allows. Meghan W. Smith will be the ring girl, Don Zellers will be the referee.
Another day another disappointment. Now I am an "Internet Terrorist".
Patrick talks to Troy about some of the threats and innuendos made by Jon Stainbrook. He said, “Mr. Stainbrook had been telling me that he is going to fire me as one of his first jobs as the party chairman.”
Also included, is an interview with Lynn Olman. When asked about the numerous complaints made to the Ohio Secretary of State he said they were groundless and false.

6/14 First about the results: I just got back from the meeting, Jon Stainbrook did win the chairmanship. Matthew Bartow was nominated as the interim chair which was sad Stainbrook associates himself with the corruption he says he wants to clean house of. I guess it depends on who is helping you right? The vote was around 87/100.
