Right now there are two things that are making people shake their heads wondering what is going on. 1. Why is Carty for some odd reason not wanting to help one of the best development opportunities in a long time-the Intermodal at the Toledo Express airport? And 2. The coverage the Blade is giving to Jon Stainbrook.
Jon Stainbrook
Has the Blade gone too far in their reporting on Stainbrook? My 10 observations
Editor in Chief Michael S. Miller of the Toledo Free Press: Love is in the air between the Toledo Blade & Jon Stainbrook
Troy Neff Show: That's what Michael Miller said about the strange relationship developing between The Toledo Blade, Republican activist Jon Stainbrook and Tom Troy. What do you think is going on here?

Groundhog day? Another Irony Award goes out to Stainbrook
I thought I read this story before in the Blade :)
Stainbrook wins another Irony Award for the few things that made me chuckle:
"They were standing at my voting location, they're handing out literature saying Riley Troup is the endorsed Republican," Mr. Stainbrook recalled. "I was devastated. I was hurt."
Troy Neff Show: The politics of personal destruction is alive and well in Lucas County
Doug Haynam, who is chairman of the central committee, brings up some interesting facts about Jon Stainbrook. After listening to this interview, do you think Jon is the guy you want to lead the Republican Party? Is he even a Republican?
E-mail from a new group
This just in via e-mail from a group calling themselves "Concerned Republican Stain Remover"

Dear Republican Leader,
Stainbrook wins the Irony Award
Jon Stainbrook wins the "Irony Award":
"Party activist Jon Stainbrook, who is running for chairman in a party election set for Saturday, said Wack's employment by the party until yesterday was evidence of the party's tolerance for corruption that he said remains from the days of disgraced party chairman and fund-raiser Tom Noe."
A twist to the story of James Arthur
So we have heard about the story of the Republican precinct chair that lives in Michigan, but won a Toledo seat. His name is James Arthur.

Stainbrook Police report and story
I was faxed a copy of the police report. There are some interesting details in here about steamy windows and a belt. I will tell you a story if I have time later tonight about my run in with the UT police in 2000 and you can compare and contrast situations.

Toledo Blade Story:
The story of the mystery postcards sent to central committee members saying the meeting is cancelled
There have been reports of mystery postcards being sent to Republican Central Committee persons the week there was all of that controversy about the meeting. Today I was faxed (the attached post card) from someone in the party today. Please ignore the twisting of the text; this was done by the sender's fax machine. I will try to get a cleaner copy in the next couple of days.
What is Bartow's status with Stainbrook? Appears not to be what Stainbrook says.
I went to my mailbox and saw a Republican newsletter and of course I was interested. I picked up and noticed it was titled "Rogue Elephant". I was also intrigued that it was sent and paid for by Matthew Bartow. The newsletter was a pro-Stainbrook, including a letter from Jon and a note encouraging your vote. It also included some Republican history. You can read the letter yourself below.
Haynam, Stainbrook, and Cross oh my!!!
F**d LeF*****e of WSPD will have Doug Haynam, Jon Stainbrook, and Gene Cross as guests tomorow. Normally F**d wouldn't post an announcement like this but there seems to be a lot of interest in this Republican dust up, so it's an opportunity to hear both sides on one station. Posted with tongue deep in cheek by F**d LeF***** of F**d LeF***** and the Morning News on 1370 WSPD.
GOP Central Committee Meeting Flare Up - What's next?
I think the Lucas County Republican party is like North Korea, making a stink to let everyone know we still exist :) Of course I am joking. So the controversy is: was the letter, which according to the Blade, appears to have been posted after public closing time, did it make the 5-day deadline? Being it is reported it was posted at 4:42, is the closing time 4:30 or 5 or 5:30?
A new group has formed? Lucas County Republican Party Grassroots Coalition
Apparently a new group/or another group/or a claim of a group was making phone calls encouraging voters to vote for Republican committeemen during the primary almost a month ago. The group is claiming to be the Lucas County Republican Party Grassroots Coalition.
Is Jon Stainbrook ruining his trust?
For those of you who are on "the Net" and in tune with politics, you know Jon recently posted some videos of Lucas County Party Executive Director Joanne Wack where she was talking in a conversation, took snippets of the conversation and posted it on Youtube. Apparently there is 45 minutes of it, although the clips that have been posted really don't make any shocking revelations.
