These terrorists are arrested without charges, face life in prison etc. WITHOUT ever carrying out any acts of terror. I always wondered what other countries did with their captured terrorists.

Don Burnard Toledo Free Press Locked and loaded (Dec 20th)
In my Dec. 6 column, I was discussing the grave situation we find ourselves in, what with two unwinnable, and, as far as I’m concerned, unjustifiable wars, an economy in shambles, double-digit unemployment and a decade of stagnant wages. So far, as is generally the case with politicians, their first concern has been to look out for the persons and institutions that played a huge part in getting us into this position. They, after all, by dint of their wealth, virtually control the political process.

LATTA STATEMENT ON PRESIDENT’S AFGHANISTAN REMARKS
WASHINGTON- Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) made the following statement after President Obama’s speech at West Point this evening.
Origins of the UT "Rockets"
This is from a recent University of Toledo e-mail.
===
When the University of Toledo played then-powerful Carnegie Tech in football in 1923, Pittsburgh sports writers were surprised to learn that UT did not have a nickname.
Though an underdog, Toledo fought formidably, recovering a series of embarrassing fumbles by favored Tech. Pittsburgh writers pressed James Neal, a UT student working in the press box, to come up with a nickname.
Regardless of the President's decision
Regardless of whatever the President decides I did get some good news this week. I am going to Afghanistan. I begin predeployment training in about a month.
For those of you not familiar with my situation I have been in the military for almost 8 years now. I have been trying to deploy for almost all of that time but have been in several "non-deployable" statuses.

I always look for confirmation when exposing people or situations. To expound on the topic “Toledo’s Children,” I have been battling with myself as to whether or not I should release this topic with my opinions however harsh they may be. My confirmation came from two sources, one an individual who heads one of the organizations and one I have been debating on whether or not I am being too harsh, the second came from a full page ad taken out in the Toledo Blade by the Toledo Blade titled “We the people.” That ad stated in it’s entirety, “Eight out of ten people read The Blade.

HUSTED CALLS ON CONGRESS TO ENSURE MILITARY AND OVERSEAS VOTERS HAVE OPPORTUNITY TO CAST A BALLOT
COLUMBUS—State Senator Jon Husted (R-Kettering) introduced an important resolution this week that calls on leaders in Washington to reduce barriers in elections law that negatively impact the ability of our nation’s military personnel and other Americans located overseas to register to vote and cast a ballot.
“Current voting procedures, both at the state and federal level, fail to recognize the unique logistical and geographical challenges that the dedicated men and women in our armed forces and other Americans living overseas face in order to exercise their right to vote,” said Husted.

The G20 in Pittsburgh showed us how pitifully fearful our leaders have become.
Out of fear of the possibility of a terrorist attack, authorities militarize our towns, scare our people away, stop daily life and quash constitutional rights.

Where is the "outrage" over the "deadliest month for U.S. forces in the nearly eight-year war."?
Where is that Liberal screeching about 'bringing the troops home alive' and how all the Libs are "concerned" over Americans being "put in harms way"?
Where is that Indignance you Libs had with the Iraq war? Why aren't you protesting the surge in Afghanistan that is getting Americans KILLED AT A RECORD PACE?
Read it for yourselves, you warmongers.
