As our coverage of the 2010 budget continues on 1370 WSPD Tom Waniewski and D. Michael Collins weigh in on tax reciprocity etc. Tuesday it was Rob Ludeman http://www.wspd.com/pages/fredstop10.html podcast here who says his vote is a firm "NO". With Sarantou's no and Webb and Collins that makes four already. Adam Martinez will be on Thursday along with Dr. Steve Steel. Should be fun.

Honoring Robert Brundage
There is a group of people coming up with ways to honor Robert Brundage and this is your opportunity to help out.
===
Facilitated by the Board of Community Relations, a group of individuals met Feb. 10 to discuss ways to honor the late Robert Brundage.
The group hopes to capture who Brundage was as an individual and find an appropriate way to honor him. Ideal recognition would “knit the community together.”
The group discussed a possible outdoor event at the Toledo Botanical Gardens, a scholarship to honor Brundage or a science lab to be named for him at Scott High School.
Say it aint so.....
Is it true? Was it clever editing? Did she really have her thoughts on her hand?

Hateful Blade Readers
I recently had a letter of opinion published in the Blade. In it, I asked why liberals wanted us to butt out of other country's business (regarding Iraq and the Bush years) but now they want to get involved in rebuilding Haiti.
I have since received several hateful, profanity laced letters mailed to my home by liberal Blade readers who obviously didn't enjoy their morning breakfast after reading my letter.
This begs the question, why does the Blade list the name of the street an opinion writer lives on? What's the point?
A note to the hateful libs who sent letters to my home:

Toledo’s economy continues to struggle mightily, based on year-end numbers released by agencies that assist the unemployed and working poor. But officials on the front lines of the fight against poverty say many families are giving up hope and struggling even more as a result.
Lucas County Job and Family Services (JFS) provided food stamps for more than 87,000 people in 2009, a 16 percent jump in the number of clients compared with 2008. The number of people on Ohio Works First cash assistance also jumped by more than 11 percent in 2009.
Why isnt the woman who killed the 15 year old girl with her SUV not in jail?
It does not make sense. The investigation is done. It was found that the school bus was stopped with its flashing lights on. Erie is a 2 lane highway so the law requires everyone to stop when a school bus flashing lights are on.
This woman should be charged. Does she know someone and is getting special treatment.
Sure is curious.

Cruelty to Dogs-->Dog "Warden" does WHAT?
This is, if true, utterly disgusting. The paper said in part the following:
"Visitors are often surprised to learn about one of the county's most definitive temperament tests: a squeeze of the genitals. A dog that will allow you to do that is a dog that isn't going to bite some kid who happens to step on his toe," Mr. Skeldon explained."

Larry Sykes in his own words
The following quotes came from the City Papers' April 6, 2005 edition in an article titled, "The harried citizen’s guide to Toledo Board of Education President Larry Sykes"
"She got caught like Janet Jackson, with her [profanity filter won't let it be posted] out." talking about Francine Lawrence
"She reminds me of a dog that can’t pass a fire hydrant without urinating on it." referring to Anita Lopez
"She has gotten those jobs not on her ability but basically because she’s a Mexican with a law degree and a female." referring to Anita Lopez
