TPS Board sorts through the big issues:
1) Budget and Cost Cutting – Board will be meeting on March 3rd at 5:30 to review the list of budget cuts. Then they will hold a public hearing surrounding those cuts on March 15 or 17 at Start High School. Cuts will be adopted at the March 23rd meeting.
BOWLING GREEN- Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) is proud to announce the 2010 Congressional Art Competition for Ohio’s Fifth Congressional District. The competition is open to all high school students who reside in the Fifth Congressional District.
“The Congressional Art Competition is an excellent chance for high school students across our great nation to showcase their artistic ability, and I look forward to seeing the great artistic talent students in the Fifth District possess,” Latta said in today’s announcement.

ONLY a fool would dismiss the Tea Party phenomenon as nothing more than a bunch of radical right-wing nuts gathering to vent.
Only a fool would allow himself to get swept up in baseless hysteria created by talk-show hosts getting rich off inflamed lemmings.
Only a fool would discount positions because they come tainted with meaningless labels, such as liberal or conservative.
While other major newspapers, like the Atlanta Journal Constitution do sign their editorials, David Kushma defends the Toledo Blade's stance. Some interesting tidbits:

Toledo’s economy continues to struggle mightily, based on year-end numbers released by agencies that assist the unemployed and working poor. But officials on the front lines of the fight against poverty say many families are giving up hope and struggling even more as a result.
Lucas County Job and Family Services (JFS) provided food stamps for more than 87,000 people in 2009, a 16 percent jump in the number of clients compared with 2008. The number of people on Ohio Works First cash assistance also jumped by more than 11 percent in 2009.

The White House wants the nation's largest financial institutions to repay taxpayers for the costs of bailing out banks and automakers.
Under the proposal, the largest 50 banks -- including GMAC Inc. -- would pay $90 billion over 10 years to cover taxpayer losses under the $700 billion Troubled Asset Relief Program.
