From the Columbus Dispatch:
-----
Of the thousands of aspiring Pamela Andersons, only one will become Playboy magazine's 55th-anniversary Playmate.
She might be picked from the pool of 600 applicants who visited the Westin Columbus during a two-day casting call this week -- or from the six other cities where the magazine is hosting talent searches this year.
And, she might not necessarily know how to model.
Megan Lampros, after all, enjoyed her modeling heyday when she was young enough to want her hand held at fashion shows.
Now, at 20, the University of Toledo student is hoping for a "comeback" in Playboy -- a curious notion for someone who had to be persuaded to wear shorts, instead of jeans, to the Columbus call.

What do you think about Megan's mom?
Did you see the pictures of her in the slideshow? DON'T RUIN THIS FOR THE REST OF US!

"Show me a man who lives alone and has a perpetually dirty kitchen, and
five times out of nine I'll show you an exceptional man." -Charles
Bukowski
is exploiting women. a woman belongs to God and to her man ( boyfriend
of husband), not to the rest of us who want to gawk at her special
parts. Why does she need to share herself with the world ? Is not one
woman enough for each man ?
What? Special parts?! Pat Boone??!!
a woman belongs to God and to her man
Belongs to? My wife doesn't "belong" to me. We're equals, plain and simple.
That statement by you says so much about your God and your bitterness towards life.
I feel very sad for your wife.
We're equals, plain and simple.
That's because you're both dudes. Cogitate's never once posted anything that sounded bitter to me, on the other hand, you seem incapable of posting anything BUT bitterness.
Now go crawl back up on your barstool and continue neglecting your son. He's the one I feel sad for.
Questioning my man hood? Your wife never complains. Of course she has more facial hair then most men I know.
I'm a bit stunned that you need to defend someone thinking that it's ok to "own" a woman. Speaks volumes of you as well.
Is this common among fundamentalist Christians? Do they truly believe they "own" their wives. Is this some deep secret that only gets talk about in anonymous forums?
Billy- as for my parenting skills... I couldn't be happier that my kids get to compete in the world with your kids and the narrow bunker mentality and small world view that will make sure that they are properly skilled at mowing lawns and washing cars for a living.
SensorGirl, your ignorance is making my day!!
Carry on bone head!
a woman belongs to God and to her man
No Cogitate.. a woman does NOT belong to a man. She belongs to herself. We are not slaves or property and we never were, despite how men might have treated and abused us in the past.
It's the Pat Boone reference that makes me shake my head. I'm picturing him wearin' those white bucks, flippin' though a Playboy, just reading the articles.
There is nothing wrong with with cogitate believes. I am sure a lot others feel the same way. If I was Megan, I would not have granted the interview because now you are going to be all over the Internet and that won't look good for a job interview. But it seems like Megan does not care-just glance at her Facebook page.
What if a woman--in fact, what if this young woman from UT, Megan--has no husband or boyfriend. In fact, what if she's a lesbian, being pictured naked? Where do we go with that in Cogitate's world?
To whom does she 'belong' to then? God? Well, we all belong to God, right? Sorry, I'm not so much knocking it, I just think it's not all black and white and dare I say a little...closed-minded??
This is very true and it applies to others as well.
Like some else on this board said, maybe we need to mind our business.
to her man ( boyfriend of husband),
Husband I can understand. Boyfriend, no. Absolutely not, and there are very good reasons for that.
SendorG:We're equals, plain and simple.
Billy:That's because you're both dudes.
Good one! LOL!
If anyone wants to pose for Playboy, it's their business. Whether I buy the magazine or not is my business. Let each mind his own business.
Whether I buy the magazine or not is my business.
I buy it for the articles!

- Just the KAT, thinking out loud again.

I'm not believing what I'm reading on here. Snide remarks about parenting, wives and the like. People outta be ashamed. If you can't do better than this, get the f*ck out.
McC - kinda funny how you've been mute about this in the past. Unless it's ok for some and not others.
Ive ignored any number of posts like that directed at myself and family, and this morning I felt froggy for once. for clarity sake, Please post a list of who's allowed to post the stuff you're referring to and who's not.
I don't read every friggin' post on this site, I'm not aware of comments about your family he's made, and were you singled out with my comments?
I would think if Sensor, or anyone else for that matter, got into your personal business with remarks about your wife or children you'd take the lumber to him, and rightfully so. If you haven't before this, that's your problem.
Somebody's family is out of bounds. Period. Frankly, any such mention should warrent a banishment or site suspension from Chris Myers. It's a far greater sin in my book than 'vulgarity' and four-letter words.
Fair enough... I don't usually strike first, but once struck, I do have a hard time holding back. Somehow, me feeling my that my wife is my equal makes me Gay. I should have been the bigger man and let it slide, as it reflects more on guy who said it then me...
hers to me - This is speaking biblically , from the apostle Paul. How
is it good that a woman's every body part is shown to whoever buys a
mag ?
Playboy doesn't bother me at all, but I do think its a little odd that Megan's mom was so into the idea of her daughter getting photographed naked.
I mean, kids (especially 20 year old ones) are ultimately going to do what they want, but seems like the mom is the one who's supposed to be reminding her child of all the potential repercussions. Not exclaiming "oh that's nice princess" when her daughter gets photographed buck naked. lol
Maybe the mom is trying to relive her youth through the daughter? Who knows?
More likely, her mom is hoping this mag spread will make her daughter famous & wealthy (and know she'll be cared for). Some playmates have lived beyond their original spread days - most do not. Most (like most anything) will have their 15 minutes of fame, and be forgotten. Who knows? Maybe this will get Megan movie roles, end up in a reality show with Huge Hefner drooling all over her - but doubtfully. I am not putting this girl down for her attempts to get rich necessarily - she'll laugh all the way to the bank, for a while. But for every Playmate who is fondly remembered, I'm sure there are far more who were quickly forgotten. The world is full of beautiful, built women, and I just think it's kind of sad that men will pay to see pictures of a woman - probably better than they could ever hope to attract in real life - but to each his own. Nobody is forced to pose or to buy the magazines. And before I get blasted with a comment about being jealous - I probably am, to some degree - but no more so than the guys who drool all over (or more) pics of beautiful women that wouldn't give them the time of day if they ran into them in real life. I think what I find a little sad, is that a young girl sees this as her best opportunity for advancement - one that could well come back to bite her in her pretty ass later on. I always wondered how ex Playmates (or current) explain to their children & grandparents, etc. why they posed naked for the world to see. (I'd have included parents, but her mom seems to like the idea.) I remember when Farrah Faucett did the video of dancing naked against a white sheet - I never watched the full video, but she was quite proud of it. I seem to recall reading where her teen-aged son was not so proud of it (she had him watch it with her, I think). Just thinking out loud, no judging - free choise.
Nobody owns their spouse, and why is Pat Boone considered an authority on this? (other than the fact that he's religous). I find it comical that some of the more famous religous people stand in judgement of the models & the viewers, when so many of them have been found out to have been to hookers, strip clubs, sneaky gay sex, cheating on their wives, etc. Lots of not famous, very religous people do the same - they just keep better secrets, because they don't have cameras pointed at them.
Compared to Hustler & some of the more raunchy mags out there, Playboy is tame, and few people will see that much that offends - I dont think they show full crotch shots in Playboy do they? (they didn't use to). That was more Hustler's speed.
If Megan & Megan's mom are ok with her doing this, then it's really nobody else's business - but I sure wouldn't call it a feather in U.T.'s cap. But hey, maybe Carty can market this into something good.
