Where is the justice ?

Tagged:  •    •

3 men can be found guilty of thinking planning and training to do harm. No where close do actually to acting on their desires. And now face years in jail. Then we have a celebrity in the news today. Acquitted. That was not him or her on the video tape. 22 people including the girl in questions own family testified that it was. What am i missing ? Just thinking about doing somthing can get you busted but video evidence of you in the act is not enough.

Another rich celebrity walks. More mistrust is created. The legal system is a sick joke.

I couldn't believe it either maybe it's just me.

American brand of justice. Them that has.... get, them that don't have........ get got.

You know you right about that.

Right now, society is paranoid about people of Middle Eastern descent. Not saying I agree or disagree with the level of paranoia - just pointing out that it exists.

(I don't know all of the detailed evidence presented in the trial, so I don't have a personal opinion on the verdict yet.)

Were you in the courtroom, Angrysage?

Me neither.

As far as I am concerned, the jury has spoken, and there isn't a lot anyone can do about it. From what I know, the prosecution had some serious problems, especially the purported victim, who denied being in the tape.

Pretty hard to convict someone when the victim denies she was involved, IMHO. Maybe R. Kelly bought her off, or maybe the other particpant in the video was lying, or maybe R. Kelly wasn't even the man in the grainy video. Who knows?

Maybe R. Kelly bought off the judge and jury, too, but I tend to think that the prosecutor rolled the dice on taking this mess to court, and that the state simply failed to prove its case.

I'm with HistoryMike on this one. There is a lot that transpires during a trial that the media skips over because it doesn't support the popular view. The video wasn't conclusive, the victim says she wasn't there, the accused says the same thing. The prosecutor wanted to nail this guy to the cross for some reason, and this time he failed.

It's cases like this one that tend to reinforce the idea that justice isn't blind, or that all men are equal in the eyes of the law.

Another criminal gets off light. Sentenced to 28 months for shaking his son and a parole violation. Does 2 months and goes on probation again. Judicial release is a joke. This guy had his second chance and blew it. But the judge didn't see it that way. I guess they needed to clear some bed space at Stryker.

Sentenced to 28 months

Judges in Ohio are elected. So, if you don't like the job this judge is doing, by all means assist his opponent in the next election.
