Why is it right for Troy to call someone a "dumbass" but it's wrong for others to call someone a "pantload" if namecalling is wrong?

I'm not trying to defend anyone here. I'm merely trying to point out an inconsistency of Troy's statement:

http://swampbubbles.com/bubble/troy-neff-show-it%E2%80%99s-not-clear-may... ">I do have this question though. Can WSPD hold government official to account without the name calling? I have no objection to what they say many times it's the manner in which they say it.

Then later on end up doing the same thing Troy has been so critical of.

I'm not saying that it's wrong to call people names. Even Jesus called people names when the "shoe fit".  He said, "woe to you generation of slimy snakes, you hypocrites."

Calling people names in an attempt to win an argument is wrong. The point is it makes no difference what names peoople call each other. What's important are the reasons why someone is this or that and why they're true or false.

If it just comes down to style with TN, "I have no objection to what they say many times it's the manner in which they say it.", what would be the right manner in which to call someone a "dumbass" or any other name?  Just because someone smiles or says it in a different style, a name is still a name.

So it must be how the name is used, the intent, whether or not it's a premise of an argument or a conclusion backed up by evidence.

i agree with jayott 1000%

Here's what I see as the difference. I didn't call Kelly a dumbass on air until after the confrontation Friday night. I wanted to be honest about what went on. Does that make a difference at all? Maybe not. Everyone can judge for themselves as you have.
