down town's decrepit buildings would be a good place to shoot movies.
the airport would be a good place to move deaf people.
the MLK Bridge would be a good place to put tables and chairs and have a cafe.
And a hot car in a handicapped zone is a good place to leave your dog!
Well Czarty is a dork but he may have actually got that one right. The building would make a nice place for a casino. Small for sure but a nice place for one.
Great view of the river, easy access to the docks. Almost sounds like the start of a downtown nightlife.
It certainly seems more appropriate for a casino downtown then a place like COSI.
but just thje right size for a Toledo Casino. We do not need a gargantuan facility with waterfalls, roller coasters and spot lights which shine all the way to Mars.
A gambling paddle boat docking up to a Downtown Casino would be nice but it will never pass. Ohio will end up with one casino in Columbus.
- Just the KAT, thinking out loud again.

Our city is facing economic issues, people are out of work and foreclosures are high, so a small casino that is not part of a larger destination goal to bring in tourist dollars is only going to take money from some in this area who can least afford to loose it.
To be able to compete with Detroit and Windsor, it'd have to be something more than what the Portside location could offer to accomplish that.
That's once you get past all of the reasons why many don't support casinos or view them to be a real economic fix. Statistically it's been suggested:
On the positive side of the ledger, a casino may increase local employment and raise state and local tax revenues. In Las Vegas and Atlantic City, N.J., where casinos primarily serve tourists, gambling creates regional jobs and an inflow of revenues.
However, in the Midwest and South, where casinos primarily attract a local clientele, gambling causes a net loss to the community. Not only do out-of-state casino operators remove gambling dollars from the local economy, but local employers and taxpayers must foot the bill of increased crime, personal bankruptcy, domestic violence, lost workdays, child abuse and other social costs from problem gamblers.
I don't normally link things from my blog, but I did some more research into this topic here for those interested.

" DETROIT - Detroit is already the nation's fifth largest gambling market, according to 2006 statistics from the American Gaming Association. Now the city is hoping to position itself as a true gambling-based destination for tourists. The city's three casinos - Greektown, MotorCity, and the MGM Grand Detroit - are spending $1.5 billion to build sleek new hotels, expand their facilities, and inject some glitz into the gritty Motown landscape.

Until now, the casinos have mostly attracted day-trippers and coach tours from Ontario, outstate Michigan and neighboring states. The new hotels, with 1,200 luxury rooms and thousands of square feet of convention space, will enable them to market to well-heeled gamers willing to spend several days gambling and being entertained, said Frank Fantini, publisher of the electronic Gaming Morning Report.
"The casinos will have no problems filling up their rooms," Fantini said."

If so, maybe Czarty could pick a fight with the Michigan State Police, spark another Toledo War, and intentionally LOSE. Toledo would then be annexed into Michigan. He'd get his casino.
What Finkbeiner, Collins,, Miller and all the other suck-ups don't know:
NUFF HAS -0- listeners!
ROFLMAO! $30K he pays to Clear Channel to buy his way on the air and play talk show man. He and Tom Watkins battling it out for Last Place in AM Drive. What a joke! Fred has a 9+ share beating the crap out of Nuff & Watty. If they combined their ratings, they wouldn't have 1/10th of Fred's audience.
And the show SUCKS! The "interviews" SUCK! And he has NO listeners! Looking at the lastest ratings in the Clear Channel coffee room, Nuff gets White Space. Zip. Zero. Nada. In some demos, the station isn't even listed! And you jerks think you're making Big Noise because you're On The Air!!!!!!
Hey Clueless: nobody's listening. If Nuff was any good, WSPD would have hired him years ago. Last time Stuart hired a real pro who has made WSPD the best it's every been.
"I don't need a big rating company to tell me my ratings. I know I'm #1" - Troy Nuff, Denial, OH.
And people give money to this jerk?
"OK2NVME" license plate on his big Mercedes? Hey Nuff - you must have a reeeaaal small (you know).

Nothing new. Everything in your post has been said before by various people.
How is it that we've had 70,000 hits this month on the website? Almost 10,000 podcasts downloads so far this year. The ratings are what they are. I choose to believe my paycheck.
Obviously my lifestyle gets to you. I have to admit I've done pretty well. It's been a lot of hard work, something you might want to give a try.
just ask your Mom.
Troy, why did you dignify that with a response?
I probably should have let it go. I just get tired of seeing the same crap over and over.
that you can't say "shit" on the radio. Apparently you can't type penis on a blog.
Somebody e-mail me the rule book.
Brian, lol.
