Save Our Scott Events

Thursday July 24, 2008 - 9:00 AM - in front of Scott High School*- 2400
Collingwood Blvd.
Save Our Scott (SOS) will hold a press conference in front of Scott High
School (Collingwood Blvd. Side) to publicize our efforts to save Scott, and
to make the community aware of what will happen if Scott is not renovated. We
will ask the public to sign our petition, and list the ways in which they
can get involved. The coalition will also send-off a contingent group of
Toledoans who will travel to Columbus for the OSFC meeting at 1:30 pm. We
will bring large signs with us to Columbus, calling for Scott to be saved
and renovated, and we will submit copies of our petition with as many
signatures as we have at that time. (signature collection will continue for
6 more days, until TPS meeting on Tuesday, July 29th)
*Monday, July 28th, 2008 - 5:30 PM* - Scott Alumni Association hosts a
public walk-through of Scott High School, at which citizens can witness the
sound structure that a newly renovation can entail. There will also be a
meeting of the TPS subcommittee on OSFC matters, to discuss plans to
renovate Scott High School. The Alumni will make its case that Scott can
and must be renovated. The alumni and SOS will continue to urge TPS to
listen to the community, and to step-up its leadership role, by asking the
OSFC to allow flexibility for a renovation of Scott.
*Tuesday, July 29th, 2008 - 5:30 PM*. Our week-long publicity campaign
will culminate in the all-important TPS Board Meeting, at which we will
present the School Board and Superintendent Foley with our Save Our Scott
petition, which calls for a resoundingly clear renovation of Scott High
School. We urge all community supporters to attend, as the fate of Scott is
determined.
