Kwame Kilpatrick Resigns and Takes the Plea Deal

Yes, it involves that big city up north, but I am curious to hear what Toledoans think about Kwame Kilpatrick and Detroit in light of the Motown mayor's decision to end his reign of buffoonery and criminality.

I believe some Democrats ON THIS WEBSITE said that to me.

So Kwame lied under oath to a Grand Jury about sex?
The answer that got him into trouble, that brought on the purjury charge was "No". That's it. "No"

No looking into a closed circuit TV camera and shaking his finger saying crap like "I never had sex with that woman" and then continuing to lie about it for 8 months.

"In a finger-wagging televised appearance, Clinton denied to the nation that he had ever had sexual relations with "that woman, Ms. Lewinsky." And FOR ALMOST EIGHT MONTHS, he steadfastly deceived aides and the country about his relationship with the intern. One aide told a grand jury that the President had called Ms. Lewinsky a "stalker." goodness he is gone. Perfect example of why people need to care about their government and how scary people can get. Enjoy your time in Prison Kwame; you earned it.

He probably ran out of money because his first lawyer recently sued him for not paying him.

The one good thing is Kwame never did swear on the air on the radio in Detroit like some other mayors have done, well only one other.

Not only was it not just about sex, it was about $8.4 million paid to police officers fired unjustly and who knows how much the legal fees added to the tab. Who will reimburse the Detroit taxpayers for that? He got off easy.

The issue with Kwame is bigger than Kwame. There are others involved as well, and look for it all to come out soon.

Point 1, yes he lied about the text messages with Christine Beatty. This is perjury, as he lied under oath.

Point 2, he also fired police officers unjustly, and they eventually won huge settlements.

Point 3, he was mismanaging city funds for his own personal uses...living it up in Florida on the city's tab.

Point 4, parties at the manogian mansion, including strippers...one of which who was killed. And it was discovered that she was shot and the bullet came from a detroit police officer's gun.

Point 5, paying off people by giving them money, huge raises and promotions to keep silent.

Point 6, giving certain "people" and "businessess" contracts to do work for the city.

And the list goes on....

Right now, Kwame is NOT going to prison. He will serve 4 months in the Wayne County jail...this is not prison.

However, all the problems are not over yet. In fact, they have just begun for Kwame. He still has to answer for assualting and investigator.

In addition, the FBI is involved and Kilpatricks father's phone was wire tapped and the FBI has information in regard to that.

Also according to Officer Brown (he is one of the officers who won the settlement) he told Fox News Detroit that while the city administration is under federal investigation...(and it is), that corruption is all throughout the city administration. He said that in the near future, there will be at least 24 people who will be found guilty and head to prison.

This is most likely true. In addition, look at the police chief as well as many others in his cabinet that are either retiring now or resigning all of a sudden. Not to mention the fat pay raises Kwame gave to key people in his administration a few weeks ago when he knew he was going to be out of office.

Watch for more developments...as the final chapter has yet to unfold.

I will say however, that I commend the prosecutor for stinking to her guns, and that Kwame did not get off as he thought he would.

This should be a blueprint for the city of Toledo.

People in influential offices whether they be politicians, lawyers, athletes...no one is above the law. If the "common citizen" must pay the time if they do the crime...so should everyone else. BUT....this is "HOLY" Toledo...were people are prideful and can do no wrong.
