Joe can put me on his volunteer list.

Joe Wurzelbacher, a.k.a. "Joe the Plumber," said Friday he may consider running for Congress in 2010, challenging longtime Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D) in the Toledo-area district.
"I'll tell you what, we'd definitely be in one heck of a fight," Wurzelbacher said during an appearance on the Laura Ingraham show Friday, "but, you know, I'd be up for it."

What possible credentials or expertise could this guy offer? It seems some people will accept anyone to lead them anymore. That's how we got into this mess in the first place -electing ideologues and idiots to run our affairs.
a politician, but someone who understands the situation in the real world. What credentials did Marcy have when she first got elected? She probably had the same if not weaker. I don't want some slick person, I want a common sense person who has been in the world. Joe has plenty of that.
And was working on a PhD at MIT before being elected. Joe the Plumber hasn't passed the plumbing contractor license test. Not even close.

Kapturs a multi millionaire, and Toledo ,is much worse off since she's been in! The pwoof,is ample! Its time for her to 'spread the wealth',other than to members of her own family. The insane thing about Toledo is,dinosaur politicians like Kaptur ,who could phone her votes into Congress. If its to increase taxes, just phone in yay! If it's too limit or,to kill off individual rights.Just phone in YAY! If it's to support Communists like Daniel Ortega,Hugo Chavez, or any of the other sawed off tyrants down south. Just phone in ,YAY! See,you don't have to be a millionaire many times over to vote Stalinism in....it's easy as ,taxing the dead!
Kaptur is not a millionaire.
Don't you ever get tired of spewing hate and misinformation all the time. To sustain your level of bitterness, anger, and angst must consume a lot of energy.
Joe the Plumber elucidated the traditional Republican economic philosophies in a 60-second soundbite better than McCain and Palin managed to do in the entire campaign, including the debates. Is he an experienced pol? Hell no, and he would have a difficult time raising the $1-$2 million needed to oust an incumbent member of Congress (especially one with 13 termsof seniority). Could he run a spirited grass-roots campaign? Maybe.
Of course, any Republicans going up against Marcy Kaptur just consign themselves to the political graveyard, and Marcy's stout anti-bailout position even earned her grudging respect from many in the GOP.
I suspect that Joe the Plumber - if he desires to enter politics - would be better served by gaining some electoral and political experience at the local and county level before trying to unseat Rep. Kaptur.
Then again: Harry S Truman went from county commissioner to President in about 12 years, so anything is possible.

he has a national following and it would be the perfect ideological battle. 2010 may be a good year to do it especially if the Ds make inroads this year. They will make outroads in 2010, that would put them at a disadvantage and could make Marcy very vulnerable. I would keep my eye on this one.
If McCain wins the election, then we may continue to hear about Joe.
If Obama wins the election, then we will no longer hear about Joe.
Kaptur rocks.
She knows the game well. Time for a new face! She looks worn out.
OK,
I don't agree with the attacks against Joe. Anyone should be able to openly ask candidates a question without fear of reprisal from the media.
However, asking a question does not mean you are qualified to be a Congressman.
Now, Joe seems to have his head on straight. He cares about how politics will affect his personal situation. If he runs for some other local office I'd support that. Then after at least one term to elected office then yes put him up for Congress.
MikeyA
He should run against Carty
He could probably win that one.
I agree that he should start a little lower on the ladder rather then heading straight for Kaptur's job.

very interesting quotes:
"Mr. Wurzelbacher said his employer, Newell Plumbing & Heating Co., has shut down. No one answered the phone number at the business yesterday.
"He put his first small business out of business," Mr. Wurzelbacher said of Senator Obama.
Mr. Wurzelbacher later said he doesn't blame Mr. Obama for being forced under the media's microscope.
"The blame, really, would be the liberal media. They have their own agenda out there, and that's who I put the blame on," he said."
As reknown boxing promoter and former Cleveland numbers-rackateer Don King once said: 'Only in America."
Indeed. Already Sam (he's not Joe, his real name is Sam) blames Obama, who isn't even in office yet, for being the fall guy for his bosses' plumbing business going under. Then he backtracks nicely and of course blames the 'liberal' media for putting him under the 'microscope.' He could also have said 'sportlight', evidently a welcomed one, since the very same media that starting asking questions about him only after the Republican nominee for president mentioned his name a dozen times on national TV has also now afforded him the opportunity to be on Mike Huckabee's show on Fox, Laura Ingraham's show, Good Morning America, who knows how many others.
In other words, the very same liberal-biased media has thus given Sam (again, not Joe) the opportunity of a lifetime...running for Congress against fabled NW Ohio liberal Marcy Kaptur and allowed Sam (not Joe) to become a nationally-recognized household name.
Somewhere, Don King's reading about this and grinning from ear to ear, gold-capped teeth a flashin', and probably considering being Sam's (not Joe) campaign manager. Don knows a workable angle, and a once-in-a-lifetime gift that falls into your lap from the skies above, when he sees one.
Only in America.
First off, what does it matter what people call themselves?
My name is Mike but a lot of people me Art. In fact I know someone who prefers to be called Buck even though it's no where near what his actual name is. The name thing is again a distraction from the issues.
McCaskey this again supports McCain's argument. What I see from this is a loss of jobs in the Toledo area. What the bland and the biased press see is a way to try to make a political point rather than focus on an issue.
And again Joe wouldn't be an issue if it wasn't for Obama's answer. He has no one to blame but himself.
Yet the same issue that hurt Obama in the debate is still hurting him today "Obama doesn't understand the issues the face Joe the Plumber."
MikeyA
That's good.
John McCain gave 'Sam' the 'Joe' tag; not 'Sam' himself. It's a freaking campaign slogan, nothing else. Get it?
And again Joe wouldn't be an issue if it wasn't for Obama's answer. He has no one to blame but himself.
The only blaming going on here is the whining and the crying about the liberal media 'digging' into Sam's life. I'm fairly certain Obama's not losing any sleep whatsoever over this guy.
Rewatch the video. He introduces himself to Obama as "Joe Wurzelbacher". McCain gave him the "the plumber" monkier but again when Joe introduces himself he says "I'm a plumber.."
"The only blaming going on here is the whining and the crying about the liberal media 'digging' into Sam's life."
Um.... I doubt the other people currently unemployed by this business now closing it's doors could be considered to be "whining and crying".
What about the Mike the plumbers and Sally the plumbers who are now out of work possibly because of political attacks?
"I'm fairly certain Obama's not losing any sleep whatsoever over this guy."
See that's the difference. I want a candidate who will.
MikeyA
I doubt the other people currently unemployed by this business now closing it's doors could be considered to be "whining and crying".
The business closed because of the media's attention on Joe, Sam, whatever the hell his name is? Is that what you're saying?
In the Blade story Saturday, Sam first blamed Obama for the business closing (how that would work, I'd really like to know), then backtracked to blaming the media. Which is it, and what does one have to do with the other?
Fact is, Sam is off here, there and everywhere appearing on network news and talk shows. It looks to me like he doesn't have the time for actual plumbing work anyhow.
Also, if Sam was actually a 'certified' plumber, could he not get work as a journeyman even if his last place of employment ceased operation? I've gotta believe for the publicity alone, this guy would have value to any local plumbing business...but, of course, it would help if he were formally trained as such.
Anyways, looks to me that now he wants to officially enter the political arena by taking on Kaptur. He's at least insinuating as such in yesterday's Blade story.
This guy is the current conservative tool. As I've already pointed it, it would behoove him to cash in on this opportunity now, make the most of his 15 minutes of fame, then go back and get trained, certified or get a degree in another field, whatever he needs to do to put food on the table for his family.
Whenever this guy's name appears now in the media, I'm reminded of The Bands' song "Stagefright." Sam just wants to 'start all over again.'
wherever this story leads:

is fair game for any and all involved. It may be a last-second Hail-Mary pass by the GOP (Montgomery getting involved I get; she's an Ohioan; but Guliani???), or there may something to it.
If Ohio Democrats or the Obama campaign have their fingerprints on this, let the chips fall where they may. Invasion of privacy is no small matter, in my book.
whereas he better take advantage of his great fortune and invest in his future and not some political career.
As excited as I am for Joe and his fame, this will pass and his contribution to McCain's campaign will be his legacy, not fodder for his own campaign ambitions. He doesn't stand a chance.
I also hope whoever so be it that violated the BMV servers for their nefarious intentions be prosecuted to the fullest extent.
Ask the ex-doctors that at one time worked at Cedar-Sinai about their delving into Britt Spear's private medical files and getting caught and terminated.
Same protocol.
What in GODS name is an 'urban planner'? One who has planned Toledo? If so, the grade is less than F,if that's possible. If it's the planned Destruction of industry, our schools, our roads, our infrastructure, our tax base, along with businesses and people fleeing ,highest electric rates in Ohio, the highest municipal tax load, well,I guess she did quite well, didn't she! Sounds absolutely like Soviet style communism to me.Recall' their' planned economy, their planned agricultural output, their planned expansion,etc....all in the DUSTBIN of HISTORY!! BIG TIME! I f this is the CHANGE, that is promised, count me out as a fellow traveler of that corruption!
