“Remembering Phil,” a new feature film starring Nicholas Turturro, Christina Murphy and Dan Castellaneta, has its roots not only in Hollywood, but also in Northwest Ohio.

The film was edited by Chris Pavlica, a recent Los Angeles transplant who was born and raised in Elmore. The world-premiere screening of the film was held Aug. 14, as an Official Selection of the inaugural Downtown Film Festival at Laemmle’s Grande Theatre in Los Angeles. “Remembering Phil” will also be screening as an Official Selection of the Big Bear Lake International Film Festival in California Sept. 13.

But we've still got a long way to go to make up for this cinematic bowel movement bearing Toledo's name. I would rather be raped by a grizzly bear than sit through Kiss Toledo Goodbye again. It was so bad that I was actually relieved that the producers picked another city's skyline to represent Toledo on the VHS box.
