Does Ben seriously not have anything better to worry about?

Another post says that 16% of lucas county people are on food stamps, and Ben Konof is seriously worrying about THIS??:

"Lucas County mulls policy on sweatshop apparel
Commissioners support restrictions on clothing purchased for prisoners"

The article says we've spent $40,000 in the last 5 years on prison uniforms etc - that' $8 thousand per year...

Dont we have bigger problems for him to worry about instead of this pipsqueek BS issue??

And a couple things you can glean out of this story if you read it -

#1, it's not even 100% certain that the stuff we're buying IS from a sweat shop
#2, Ben does not know how much finding another purveyor will cost us! He ESTIMATES just a few hundred a year - estimates based on what??

I just think with as bad as things are getting here in Lucas County - dont we have better things for our Commissioners to spend their time on??

Or is this just something he can use for another bullet point on his resume?

And how about rats in the city? Health Dept. genius David Grossman sacked a rodent-control position so he can uphold the unfunded mandate to harass smokers in bars. These commissioners should sack Grossman for not executing his duties to provide a rat-free environment in Toledo. The commissioners' priorities are screwed up.

You can't fine rats and get a revenue stream from them. Grossman is only fully aligning with post-collapse government. It must be all about money.

So far Grossman has spent $40k and brought in $600 from enforcing the smoking ban. I don't think it's revenue he's after. He is on a religious holy war -a jihad- against tobacco. He is a True Believer.

Ben

I think it is a great idea. Maybe the inmates uniforms can be purchased at Superior Uniform. Lucas County will be supporting a local business.
