Dear Friend,

For over two weeks now, there has been radio silence from one of America's most effective voices for our values.

Laura Ingraham, radio talk show host extraordinaire, has been taken off the air across the country.

It is up to us, her listeners, fans, and all who share Laura's concerns for Life, Liberty, and America to demand that these stations Bring Back Laura.

If you would like to add your voice to the cause, please go to http://www.bringbacklaura.com and take action.

Thank you for your help.

Yes, by all means....conservative talk is only 90% of what's on the air.

they drop that self-important windbag Dr. Laura (Schlessenger) from the airwaves as well.

It has no bearing on politics, self importance, or anything like that. It's who can pull in the biggest draw - who gets the biggest ratings. If Michael Moore could get people to tune in, he'd be Clear Channel's banner boy.

Bullshit

anything you have to back up that opinion, or you just gonna stick with the cuss words your momma dont let you say upstairs?

If there were a market for liberal talk show hosts, there would BE liberal radio talk show hosts.

anything you have to back up that opinion

Sure. Ed Schultz gets over 31,000 listeners per station. The king of the conservatives (Rush) gets only 24,000 listeners per station. So if it's all about the listeners, why don't more stations put Big Eddie on the air?

Btw, I get the cuss words from yo momma. Mmmm...

Big Eddie is aired on clear channel stations, genius!

I never said anything about Clear Channel--genius. The fact is, people like Thom Hartmann, Ed Schultz, Randi Rhodes, etc get just as many listeners per station as the right-wingers.

The fact is, people like Thom Hartmann, Ed Schultz, Randi Rhodes, etc get just as many listeners per station as the right-wingers.

That being the case tho, the right wingers still intimidate you to the point where you cant just tune in to the ones above you enjoy, you want the right wingers off the air. Why is that?

I don't want them off the air. However it would be nice to have a choice. The people I listed aren't on the radio 'round here.

Do you seriously believe a company started by a close friend and major fundraiser of the Bush family is putting Michael Moore on the radio, if he had a show to host, even if he could draw the ratings? Think Clear Channel wants people to hear Michael Moore and what he has to say?

"The company's founder, L. Lowry Mays, is a close friend of the Bush family and has maintained professional and political ties with both Bush the elder and the son. When George W. was the governor of Texas, Mays was appointed to the state's technology council in 1996; he later contributed $51,000 to Bush's reelection campaign in 1998. Between 2000 and 2002, entities associated with Clear Channel--through PACs, soft money, and individual contributions--forked over $1 million to political campaigns, with 75 percent going to Republican candidates.---

She should run for office.

Then new talk show hosts would complain about her efforts and results.

I saw her on Fox, I think it was, and made some quips about this and that, but it seemed to be nothing more than comments made current affairs and they change little.

founder of Clear Channel:

In 2003 Mays testified before the US Senate that the deregulation of the telecommunications industry had not hurt the public. However, in an interview that same year with Fortune Magazine, he remarked, "We're not in the business of providing news and information. We're not in the business of providing well-researched music. We're simply in the business of selling our customers products."

Truer words were never spoken, but he could well have added, "and doing all we can to advance the cause of conservatism whereever and whenever we can"

Pink Slip, I won't dispute your numbers of listeners per station because I don't feel like looking them up, but they prove nothing by themselves. If Schultz broadcasts were targeting larger markets it would accomplish the goal of more listeners per station.

Mr. Schultz program is also broadcast on many Clear Channel stations. a quote from Ed Schultz in this article - "Clear Channel is a publicly held company, and they're about making money," he says. "That's why they're committed to this format -- because they know it's a viable category. Just like there's hard rock and soft rock and classic rock, there's conservative talk and sports talk and progressive talk. I give them credit for stepping up to the plate and realizing there's a future here."
