Jack Lessonberry talks about the Blade coverage of Wack.
---
By serving as GOP executive director, Ms. Wack did just that. She was
not a mere behind-the- scenes functionary; she dealt with the media and
the public and wasn't shy about saying what she thought about Democrats.
Nor did The Blade initiate a free-ranging investigation into her past.
On April 28, she was on the witness stand when an attorney asked her if
she had ever been convicted of a felony. She said no, but someone
clearly knew better.
After a judge was shown information contradicting that, she returned to
the stand and changed her testimony. She had in fact been convicted of
grand larceny in an affluent New York City suburb in a 1989 case, when
she was a 23-year-old nanny. She told an attorney that she had done so
because "it's an embarrassing part of my past. I don't see any bearing
on what we're discussing today."
That comment would have inspired any good reporter and editor to
immediately check out whether, in fact, it was merely a youthful
indiscretion.
Instead, The Blade found that she had more than a dozen local legal
judgments and three criminal cases in this area, beginning in 1992.

Mr. Lessonberry is right about Joanne being a public figure. But "
Instead, The Blade found that she had more than a dozen local legal
judgments and three criminal cases in this area, beginning in 1992."?
I would think that a good reporter would have also looked up and checked to be fair if Jon has a record or any of his associates. Now that Jon is in charge, will the records of any of his associates be an issue?

Once again, she took an oath and failed to uphold it, which more than demonstrates her contempt for the law. Then we bring in other court cases and we get a great picture of an unabashed crook.
When on the stand, you can either speak the truth or plead the 5th Amendment. She did neither. She just lied. She then ADMITTED she lied:
«She told an attorney that she had done so because "it's an embarrassing part of my past. I don't see any bearing on what we're discussing today."»
I call her The Wacked One for a damned good reason. She committed clear perjury but the legal system around here is afraid of the elites.

You remember? I haven't seen any articles in One of America's formerly great newspapers.
You know, William Jefferson, Democratic Congressman from Lousiana? The one
with $100.000 in his freezer? The $100,000 that "Agents told a judge the money was part of a $100,000 payment that had been delivered by an informant in the bribery probe, which already has led to guilty pleas by a Kentucky businessman and a former Jefferson aide"
