The 6th district federal court overturned a lower court ruling mandating that Brunner verify voting registrations. Of course it is surreal that a Secretary of State would not want to verify voting lists, but now she has to and thank goodness.
-----
Late in the day – in a victory for Republicans – the full Cincinnati-based 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals overturned a decision made last week by three of its members. The result: Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner must create computer programs to cross check all new voter registrations so that county boards of elections can double check new registrants.
The Secretary of State will now have to verify new registrations by comparing information on them with data from the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles or the Social Security Administration.

Brunner today ordered all reports of fraud reported after the story in Cleveland where a voter who was falsely registered tried to vote.

Brunner can only appeal to the Supreme Court now. Maybe she will just try to verify voters and not continue this wasteful legal battle.

who only yesterday went to great extent trying to defend the decision to not check the registrations and swearing up and down that it was legal. Obviously the 6th district federal court did not share the same view. We will all wait for Pink Slip to post the talking points on this one. Pink Slip what were you paid to post today?
Chris myers--you are not only misinformed, but you are also a LIAR. I posted previously that the registrations SHOULD be verified. But they should be verified by the County Board of Elections like the law says. By creating a program to verify the new registrations, they will be more chaos and legitimate voters will be denied the right to vote-----which is what the GOP wants. Notice something funny about that Ohio voter who tried to vote illegally in one of the links you posted? HE WAS CAUGHT. And hopefully, he'll be prosecuted.
Why is it that the GOP waited until the last minute to take this route? Hopefully, Brunner takes this to the Supreme Court.
Btw, I'm flattered that you think my opinion is worth money. I've often thought that myself.

did I say that? You spent a lot of time defending Brunner, well the 6th district court does not agree with you nor Brunner. I don't think I am the one misinformed.
If you catch a cockroach, it means you have a larger problem. It would be interesting on how many problems were out there, now that Brunner must share the info and help out, maybe we will now find out.
BTW don't let me get in the way of you being paid to post your assigned talking points here. Feel free to just post what you are being paid by the national party to do. I know the economy is tough and someone has to pay bills somehow.
When I said you were misinformed, I was speaking generally. And I don't get paid for this. But I understand your confusion. My posts probably seem pretty valuable when compared to yours.
