Looks like Obama is well liked. Polls show Obama likeability rating range around 60 percent. Mitt Romney on the other hand likeability ratings are dismal (only 31 percent), has no chance of victory unless Obama’s image is dragged down. So Republican operatives are looking to spend $10 million in PAC money to sling mud at Obama. We see the attack ads from Carl Rove's Crossroads GPS a 501(c)(4) nonprofit corporation. USA in partnership with FACTCHECK.ORG did an a analysis of the current attack ad from Crossroads GPS.

Likability is a poor excuse to elect someone to be leader of the free world. Voters will most likely be concerned with their own pocketbooks and well being rather than whether or not they "like" a particular candidate. Seriously, Lincoln Perry was a likable guy too but I wouldn't elect him President.

America, will become Greece, at that moment !

[ if not sooner ]

If voters are concerned about their own wallets, they have a piss-poor way of showing that, since both Obama and Romney are effectively employees of Wall Street. And I hardly need to explain how bad Wall Street is for your wallet.

So the rational conclusion is that American voters are pretty much rubes.

Venture Capitalists=85% Conservative.

Liberals risk other peoples monies.
Conservatives risk their own.

THINK: Solyndra , MF Global, & Bernie Madoff...all liberals.

Your likeability statistics are wrong. The most accurate way to find out a metric is to average all the data which reduces the impact of statistical noise and/or loaded questions. Here is the average of the President's favorability.
http://elections.huffingtonpost.com/pollster/obama-favorable-rating Fav 48.2, Unfav 46.1

Now it's important to note that the President's favorability has ALWAYS out performed his Job approval. http://elections.huffingtonpost.com/pollster/obama-job-approval?bcsi_sca...

This means people like him but when it comes to the job he does they are like eh.

Interesting is this is the exact opposite of Bill Clinton who's job performance outperformed his likeability especially at the end of his term. So for him peope didn't like him but thought he did a good job.

Now what's interesting about the two graphs is the rapid decline of the President's favorability, it's now almost in tow with his JA number. This has come as a result of the class warfare strategy. The inability to run on his record is proving to be a hindrance to the President.

Now contrast this with Romney's likeability graph. http://elections.huffingtonpost.com/pollster/mitt-romney-favorability# He gets a spike in both Unfav and Fav solely for getting the nomination. So with a 46.9 Unfav and a 41.6 Fav there is a gap but it's not insurmountable especially with a lot of undecideds on the question, IF he gets those two numbers as close as the President's then the election will not be decided by likeability which is decidedly bad news for the President.

wolfman I don't know where you get this 60% number but it's clearly wrong and doesn't fit your narrative.

Wolfman and the facts = not friends.

The Bain attacks are not working for the President. The reason being is it reminds voters that Romney worked in the private sector AND it highlights economy issues of which the President does not poll well.

The attacks do strike a chord with the Democrat base but fail with Independents at almost a 2 to 1 margin. With those type of Indy numbers on what voters consider the most important issues is not a winning strategy.

If the President's campaign was smart they'd end the attacks. But I have a feeling it's a lot like the gay marriage issue.... all about fundraising.

Besides Romney's old company, Bain Capital, GUESS WHO ELSE IS A BAIN-TYPE VENTURE CAPITAL FIRM?

"GM Ventures is the venture capital arm of General Motors. We invest in growth-stage companies to enhance GM's ability to innovate and ensure our customers have access to the best technology. GM Ventures provides our partners with an ideal platform for commercializing innovation in the global transportation industry."

http://www.gmventures.com/

THOSE EVIL BAIN WANNA-BE'S! Yet ANOTHER reason GM should have gone bankrupt?
Nah. OBAMA GAVE TAXPAYER MONEY TO A COMPANY LIKE BAIN AND LIBS LOVED IT! Sucking up to Big Banksters like GMVentures is OK as long as you are a Liberal.

Don't blame me,
I didn't vote for a
socialist.

Fruck You

GM which is mostly owned by the Treasury Dept. (that's us) didn't ask for permission to start the venture arm, they just did it.
One of the companies they invested in is Mascoma Corp. a biofuel firm. According to the NASDAQ Mascoma Corp has a net income of -$41,625,000,yes that's a minus. The stockholder's equity is at -$140,372,000 yes that's a minus.
The other GM Venture investment was in Coskata, here's a little bit about them-Given Coskata hasn’t built its first commercial plant, it has no revenues coming in. At all (there’s a line through the revenues portions for every year). For nine months ending September 30, 2011, Coskata had a net loss of $23.3 million, and had a similar net loss for 2010. As of September 30, 2011, Coskata had an accumulated deficit of $88.2 million.
Now this wouldn't be a problem if this was private money. It is not of course it is taxpayer money being wasted by a company owned largely by the U.S. Treasury . I yield the floor to the gentleman from Michigan
