"Life on the Edge of a Bubble: Blowing the American Dream Pt. 1" begins a fast-paced kaleidoscopic look at the bubbles, panics and depressions that have re-occurred, almost like clockwork, every 20 years since the U.S. government joined forces with the banking interests back in the 1700s. Using vintage footage, slick TV ads, statements made by politicians and Federal Reserve chairmen, the film is paced like a roller coaster, punctuated by thoughtful statements and the dramatic chronicling of past human follies.

"Life on the Edge of a Bubble: Blowing the American Dream Pt. 2" continues a fast-paced kaleidoscopic look at the bubbles, panics and depressions that have re-occurred, almost like clockwork, every 20 years since the U.S. government joined forces with the banking interests back in the 1700s. Exposing the 'con' in the confidence game, how profits are privatized and losses socialized, how the rule makers bend and break the rules to enrich themselves and their financial backers, the film identifies key aspects of the systemic nature of the problem, a first step in the task of breaking that pattern.

I usually am not on the same page with Wolfman and don't know if I am now, but I am reading "The True Story of the Bilderberg Group". Very, very scary. The group is composed of 100-200 and even more inactive members, of the world's absolute wealthyist, influential big whigs in the political (nationally and internationally), business, jounalists/media and more. They have more money, more power and more influence on WORLD wide events than we can ever imagine! And you can guess what they want? The last meeting took placeJune 2008 and attendees included everyone from Queen Beatrix of the NL, one of the wealthiest women in the world, Ben Bernake, Fed Reserve, Pres of Banks fromUS, Germany, Canada, Sweden, Switzerland. Our own Turbo tax timmy Geithner, then the CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York!...etc..the list goes on. Perhaps you could find it online under "Official Attendee List - 2008 Bilderberg Group Meeting". Paul Voelker, Larry Summers, both Clintons, Gerald Ford, Tony Blair, Paul Wolfowitz, many UN and EU big wigs as well as Rockefellers, Rothschilds and more. It's a heavy read but interesting and leaves more questions than answers. Sorry for the long post and sorry if it's boring to some of you. Here is an exerpt, but know their goal is total world dominance and globalization thru a one world government...guess where that leaves us!!!
from www.bilderberg.net:
Bilderberg is an extremely influential lobbying group. That's not to say though that the organisers don't have a hidden agenda, they do, namely acumulation of wealth and power into their own hands whilst explaining to the participants that globalisation is for the good of all. It is also a very good forum for 'interviewing' potential future political figures such as Clinton (1991) and Blair (1993). [see above for more on this]
The ideology put forward at the Bilderberg conferences is that what's good for banking and big business is good for the mere mortals of the world. Silently banished are the critical voices, those that might point out that debt is spiralling out of control, that wealth is being sucked away from ordinary people and into the hands of the faceless corporate institutions, that millions are dying as a direct result of the global heavyweight Rockefeller/Rothschild economic strategies.

Tom we agree but many find your subject too disturbing. This post links to a two part video that shows the real history of our country. I think those that view will find it an eye opener. My thinking is our vote really doesn't matter anymore the die is set. The oligarchy controls the people. So really the Progressives and the Tea Party movement should have one common core belief. "Government doesn't work for the people."

True wolf, Right now the govt is not working for the people. Case in point...Healthcare reform...wide majority of citizens DONT want it...remember the town hall mtgs? The Lobbyist want it, the career politicians want it and.....and don't THEY "know better than us". NOT. They forget they work for us. WE NEED TERM LIMITS.
Assuming that you're being sarcastic, You're right when you say," the Progressives and the Tea Party movement should have one common core belief. "Government doesn't work for the people." BUT, BIG BUT, is that the solution/ reasons/end result to GET the govt to work for us could not be more opposite between Progressives and what you call Tea Party movement. Progressives are Republicans and Democrats...TEA party people obviously are registered as a DEM or Rep, but they don't consider themselves as such. Why do you think election laws make it so hard to get an Independent on the ballot. Except for a handful of exceptions, the Congressional Kings and Queens are beholden to their big money donors, not their constituents. I was against bailouts from the beginning....YOU CAN'T BE TOO BIG TO FAIL. FAIL!! We'd be on the road to recovery by now. Why do you think the gubmint bailed out these big boys..and are still doing it..ITS THEIR DONORS! That's why WE NEED TERM LIMITS. These Reps don't work for us, but for themselves and their big boy buddies. And the TEA Party movement is about THAT. AND it is not all white....I've been to them---all colors and nationalities. People are sick of getting the shaft from the govt when working so hard and seeing THE WORKING MAN doesn't start creating his own wealth until April I think it is. Before that your moolah goes to support the BIG BAILOUT COMPANIES otherwise known as the government. VOTE NEW BLOOD IN 2010

I agree with much of what you say. TERM LIMITS are a failure in Michigan the elected have no experience and none of the goofs get anything done just waitin till their terms are up. The bailouts I have mixed feelings as a retired Jeepster I realize the hatred I read it daily on this blog. But if the Big Three went under in Toledo it would have been a disaster. Toledo area supports 60 thousand manufacturing workers active/retired. The local economy would have collapsed and I could have bought your home for two wooden buffalo nickels. I've written about this before and I think if the $$$POLITICIANS$$$ would have done the work of the people over the last twenty years this would not have happened. The BANKSTERS caused the major reason the Big Three and most transplants are having trouble.

part of a letter I sent to my Rep and Sens before the bailout. Last part proven true
........The Big Three will not disappear, They will either reorganize or be aquired by other automakers. There is just too much brand recognition and value and infrastructure in place for them to disappear. But a bailout will only prolong their demise and cost us and our children billions. .........
Have to go Bye.
