How does what they said compare to what has happened? Can we really blame mayor Carty Finkbeiner for Toledo's ills for what has happened on a national scale by our former three presidents disastrous leadership. Here is an ad from 1992 has anything changed? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcEMDks9_Vw&feature=player_embedded

Just curious, which former president are you referring to?

Ross Perot was absolutely correct. But who did the pols listen to? One of their own- Al Gore? Or someone in the business world who actually knows- Ross Perot?
I think you should blame the third-party candidacy of GHWB for playing the spoiler role.

The North American Free Trade Agreement was supposed to raise living standards for both American and Mexican workers. Instead America has lost jobs by the thousands and Mexican workers are being exploited. Now the Bush Administration wants to extend the same types of agreements to the rest of Latin America, China and India. Tell Congress not to accept these exploitive agreements

Well Sir you did it again, I have seen this film or one similar before I retired from my job in the auto industry in 2000. I have even been in the room with Marcy when she said those very words. I remember being angry then and I am still angry today because we are still being screwed with no kisses. the lower that you are on the economic ladder, the more pain you are going to have.
I don't know how we are going to recover from this crisis that was self- inflicted. by our own people in leadership and big business. We are just the worker bees and can be replaced by other worker bees who are less fortunate and hungry. OH thats right it's our fault for wanting to live good TOO.! For example; We had a campaign in the corporation and union to encourage the employees and membership to "BUY WHAT YOU BUILD", when they took our jobs to other countries how did THEY think that we could pay for the automobiles with no JOB?
The astronomical amount of money that we spend in other countries [and SO much of it is siphoned off by thieves on both sides] could go along way in OUR COUNTRY to create jobs and help pay for healthcare for our own people. It seems to me that we should take care of our own yard before we start trying to take care of other peoples yard in another country. Is that selfish,or self preservation?
Free Trade will never be repealed. Everyone else in the country has accepted it. The rust belt should too.
