Could Dave Schulz be correct in the recall petition claim?

Could Dave Schulz be correct in the recall petition claim? If so, he will have joined Toledo's leaders in reducing the deficit....but in a totally unique fashion.

Dave may be correct but it has no affect on the deficit of the city of Toledo. The city is still in the hole $27 million, the county which handles elections would save some money. It's sad people don't even know how their own government works or what affects and doesn't affect a deficit.

Or he could be wrong.

All Dave Schultz has done is slow down the counting process. Do we need this kind of person in an elected office? The answer is obvious. Please don't run for office again, Dave, ever. We don't need your buddy CF or you.

IMO

It really irks me that political operatives can game the system to thwart the 40,000 people who signed a petition. In my view, it illustrates much of what's wrong with today's politics.

"Do we need this kind of person in an elected office?"

You mean the kind that tries to make sure the laws are adhered to?

Pink Slip

Adhering to the law is one thing, but not doing your homework and interfering with the odererly flow of beneficial processes is another. The officials at the board of elections have proven that it is their job to validate the process and the signatures, not CF's buddies. This is typical for Toledo. There will be other stumbling blocks with the process. CF is a seasoned politician and who know who he has lined up to cause more havoc.

So when a taxpaying citizen participates in our democratic system, you consider it "interfering"? Stand back everyone, let the minority mob have it's way!! Don't interfere with our waste of your tax money!!

Pink Slip

but it's okay for professional politicians to disenfranchise 40,000 taxpaying citizens who took the time to sign their name to the petition simply because you disagree with them?

I have no horse in this race except for the fact that the continued dysfunctional government that plagues Toledo directly affects Northwest Ohio as a whole. It would be nice if the city got it's collective act together. If the Bush-Republican Congress years is a stark illustration of why one party should not control both executive and legislative branches, the City of Toledo and the Democratic Party is another.

Or in my skewed little world, we'd be better off with a legitmate third party that actually represented the working poor and middle America.
