Support Wagoner and Sears

With November 4 just a day away, State Senator Mark Wagoner and State Rep. Barbara Sears are finishing their elections strong, eager to get back to Columbus and serve Northwest Ohio citizens. This effort has been recognized by local community members, such as Jan Lowe from Waterville via a letter-to-the-editor in the Maumee Mirror Newspaper:

"To the Editor:
As a resident of Lucas County and an active member of our community, I feel it is my obligation to inform the voters of Northwest Ohio about two candidates who deserve recognition for their record of accomplishments in the Ohio General Assembly: state Sen. Mark Wagoner and state Rep. Barbara Sears.
Let me first begin with Sears. Sears was appointed in January 2008 to take the place of Wagoner in the Ohio House of Representatives, chosen because of her dedicated work with the Sylvania City Council and the Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of Governments. She got to work right away, authoring Clean Ohio legislation and becoming vice chairman of the criminal justice committee.
For the short time that Sears has served in the state House, she has been recognized by her peers as an outstanding freshman congressman. Her background as a small business owner has also given her insight into the needs of businesses within our region, whether that be a helping hand or stepping aside to prevent government red tape from hindering job creation and growth.
In this same fashion, Mark Wagoner has gone above and beyond the call of duty to assure that our community is the best that it can be. His work in the merger of the Medical University of Ohio with the University of Toledo and his commitment to being a “watchdog” for your tax dollars are just two examples of his tireless work to ensure stability and growth within our area.
Wagoner has placed special emphasis on bringing good-paying jobs to Northwest Ohio to keep our skilled workforce within the region. He has fought to make tuition more affordable for Ohio students, and will continue to fight for more Ohio grants and scholarships to make higher education more easily accessible.
With Sen. Wagoner and Rep. Sears in the two houses of the Ohio General Assembly, our community can rest assured that their voices will be well represented in Columbus. I look forward to seeing the work these two individuals show us in the coming years, and would encourage you to support them on the November ballot."
