The Guardian view on the response to terror: the attack on Charlie Hebdo was a crime, not an act of war

Quote:
"If the world learned one thing from George W Bush, it was that it is a terrible mistake to confuse a crime, however monstrous, for war. After 9/11, the belligerent rhetoric of the war on terror fostered deluded ideas of a “victory”, legitimised the torture that still stains America’s moral standing and licensed ruinous misadventures overseas. In this difficult hour for France, and Europe more widely, a calmer fury must prevail."

The partial tally of what this nation lost under President Bush so far:

• The World Trade Center
• A piece of the Pentagon
• Five or six trillion dollars--again, so far
• A doubled national debt
• Over six-thousand dead American soldiers and over forty-seven-thousand wounded (not to mention billions of dollars in weapons, supplies, and equipment blown up, wasted, or stolen)
• Untold numbers of Iraqis, Afghanis, and Pakistanis dead and wounded, and thousands of refugees
• The sympathy and the cooperation of almost every nation on the planet
• A big chunk of New Orleans
• The housing market
• Every amendment in the Bill Of Rights except the second
• A valuable CIA agent specializing in nuclear counter-proliferation
• Safe airline travel
• Safe food
• Safe water
• Safe, regulated exploration for and extraction of coal, oil, and gas
• Impartial climate science
• The integrity of the Justice and Interior departments
• Years of government research on climate change
• Eight years of stem cell research
• The nation's moral standing on war crimes and torture
• Two million jobs
• Fair elections
• The integrity of the private property system
• Trillions of dollars swindled from Americans by banks you refused to regulate
• The Kyoto Treaty
• Three-thousand points off the Dow

So an Islamic attack on a French Newspaper ,leads you to bitch about George Bush.

And you wonder why we call liberalism a mental disorder?

“Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.”

The guy has severe problems. Look at the number of posts on the NW Ohio pipeline. No one on here cares yet he keeps posting and replying to himself to bring attention to his posts. It's sad and pathetic. He needs help. Hopefully his daughters will recognize that at some point and get him treatment.

Oh I know wolfman....er....dogboy.....nutty as a squirrel turd.

I kinda just come by here once and a while anymore.....same old shit from the same few posters bitching about the same old crap.

“Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.”

Since the new rules went into affect it's been quieter but much more civil. I can deal with that so long as only offensive material is edited and not offensive opinions.

triple post.

His posts are nearly identical to those of one no longer with us.

As crimes go, it's hellish, hence the police and citizen response should be:

1. Seize the attackers, killing them in the process if necessary.
2. Thoroughly investigate the attackers and find out if there's a terrorist cell still active in their personal and professional networks.
3. Seize, try and execute anyone who is in those networks who assisted the attackers.

I predict France will fail to fulfill #3, which is why the West is falling apart. The Muslim shits know we don't have the willpower to follow through in our own nations.

In other words, France will remain as powerful as it has been over the last 100 years. "He who fights and runs away, will run away most any day".
