Toledo Pothole Paradise a Libertarian dream! Buy a Jeep!

Toledo is being inundated with years of neglect to its area roads. The Republican Governor Kasich has shifted the tax burden to local residents while giving away the state treasury to his wealthy donors. Now is the time to take action! Our roads will not improve till we take back our government from monied interests. http://www.toledoblade.com/Editorial-Cartoons/2014/04/08/Kirk-Campaign-C... Good luck! Trade in the Toyota Prius, KIA or other foreign made weenie mobiles and buy a locally built Jeep. Anyone who owns a Jeep doesn't give a damn about potholes. Only the foreign built car owners are crying. They can directly attribute this funding problem for not being loyal to their fellow Americans. Buy a Jeep, put your neighbor back to work and he'll pay taxes to fix your roads!

Don’t balance state budget on local communities’ backs
Ohio’s governor and legislature have passed the buck to local officials whom citizens lean on for the delivery of essential services

Is a result of a rough winter...How do you go from potholes to Priuses, to buying locally built jeeps. Are you saying everyone should buy a jeep, then we don't have to worry about the potholes. If that's the case ,you are contradicting your self..

It makes me feel safer to know my Honda wasn't assembled by a UAW member who could be drunk/drugged (or a combination) on-the-job. A Honda assembly person can be fired for his/her shoddy workmanship or less-than-exemplary behavior.

Or, indeed, for anything, because lots of people at Honda are TEMPS, as if temps have a lot of concern for how they perform their jobs and pride in the quality of their work.

The plant has hired 380 temporary workers this year, with 50 having been converted to full-time employees. The new positions will pay $15.78 an hour for 10 to 30 hours a week.

That's not a clarification. How many other temps are working down there?

If people end up having that little concern for the quality of their labor, then they will end up either replaced individually, or replaced regionally.

There's no excuse for lazy, uncaring or deceitful employees. So stop conjuring up excuses.

Did someone forget that Jeeps are as much of a "foreign built car" as Hondas and Toyotas that are built in this Country? Jeeps are FIATS (Fabbrica Italiana Automobili do Torino).

Toyota recall to include 2010 Toyota Prius? Driver complaints are startlingly consistent.

Quote from article:
"Of the 171 reports, all but five relate to some problem with the Prius' braking system. In the vast majority of the cases, drivers wrote that when traveling at low speed and hitting a pothole or other small bump, they felt the Prius surge of its own accord."

I enjoyed your photo of a clown sitting in a FIAT 500. Jeeps are FIATs ya know--really--they are.

Jeeps are made by Americans in Toledo. The Wrangler will easily handle any pothole in Wood County Galt. Its a twofer create living wage American jobs and increase the tax base in Northwest Ohio!

Gosh, Mrindependent, you almost made me forget that due to those "Americans in Toledo" who make Jeeps we have a union-controlled government that has rendered the City as a place no other companies want to touch with a 10-foot pole.

So, by your definition, Honda is an American company.

BTW, my Honda Pilot will handle any pothole Toledo has to offer as well.

Is foreign owned Jeep American made?
Is foreign owned Honda american made?

Can either of them sport one of those moronic "out of a job yet" bumper stickers?

Where ya been, Mr. Indy has missed you..

"Our roads will not improve till we take back our government from monied interests."

One of the biggest monied interests is the public unions that keep demanding more more more for government workers. That's where the money's been going.

Actually, now that I look at the posting title again, I must point out that in a Libertarian society, you'd have funding for the roads. The funding would come from the people who used the roads. So tolls, gasoline taxes, vehicle fees or a combination thereof would be use SOLELY to fund road construction and maintenance... instead of the current system where said revenue goes into a 'general fund' which is then plundered by the public unions.

This is one of the best posts I've seen here in a while.

MikeyA

Keep voting to give them revenue, to keep plundering. But its not just the public unions.

"DTOM" {1776} " We The People" {1791}

Yes, the plundering is more widely subscribed.

That's "morons" without the apostrophe, moron.

For future reference, so you don't look like a moron for your moronic use of the apostrophe:

Teacher, How bout I don't give 2 bits about your correction, Chumley... Oh! And speaking of being a Moron, that seems appropriate for you and your Obama, along with his administration. A bunch of MORONS, with or without the apostrophe, how's that!
Oh! again, You need a job, If you are interested in writing for English Idiot’s on how to write, please send your proposal, either in printed form by regular mail, or in electronic form by e-mail.
