Although the numbers may be close the group itself, americans against the tea party, is sadly mislead. The "tea party" which is really not a formally organized party is against corporate subsidies. In fact the movement started because of the bailouts of the banks and auto industries. Now DMHI would have you believe he was in favor of the auto bailout, but against the wall st bailout, both however are corporate subsidies which the tea party movement was against. For people like DMHI the phrase "tea party" is the new Eurasia (look it up).
The other problem with the chart of course is that it fails to explain that for my defense, medicare, and unemployment payments I get something. I get nothing when I pay for someone else's food stamps, SNAP, or corporate/farm subsidies.

Any statement I make is the opinion of me exercising my first amendment right to freedom of speech. Freedom of speech in the United States is protected by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution and is generally permitted.

Individual welfare is equally evil as corporate welfare. But because you partisan fucks can't ever, ever, ever allow your pet programs be cut, the end result of this duo-govvernment is that NOTHING is cut, at least nothing in the primary budget items. Hence, the 4 largest federal budget items (Social Security, military, DHSS (Medicare/Medicaid) and debt interest) consume over 100% of the revenue, forcing your spendaholic politicians to borrow, borrow, borrow. Since Americans are generally morons, few people realize that all this borrowing is hidden taxation. Borrowing means taxes later. And borrowing incurs a "cost of credit", which American morons are also generally weak on understanding. So taxes later to cover borrowing today, must be larger than usual.

So it really doesn't matter anymore. With federal debt levels having reached 100% of GDP, the game is over. The United States of America is bankrupt, by any metric. Nations cannot survive such a high debt level. And I'm sure that in every failing instance thereof, the people of that nation screamed in denial about it all... like we're doing now.

House Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer of Maryland in a statement said he opposed the bill “because it breaks the principle that domestic spending cuts should not pay for higher defense spending.”

“This is just the latest demonstration of why we cannot achieve the kind of comprehensive deficit reduction we need by way of small, piecemeal efforts that only ask one group to contribute – whether they are our nation’s veterans, federal employees, or anyone else. Serious deficit reduction, as recommended by the bipartisan Bowles-Simpson and Rivlin-Domenici commissions, will have to require everyone to contribute and share in the burden of putting America back on a sound fiscal path,” Hoyer said.

I totally agree with the original post. We shouldn't be subsidizing companies like Solyndra and Italian owned Fiat-Chrysler!

Nor should we subsidize the oil companies, Monsanto, Con-Agra, ADM, etc. etc. etc.

ask for and get tax breaks, but what do small local businesses get?
