Oh wow--I can't wait to see the part about Hillary Clinton and the cattle futures scam. What? That isn't included in the special?!

If you could steal millions and only have the 0.1% chance of getting caught, what would you do?

The question is rhetorical. Too many people would choose to steal the millions. And the 0.1% chance arises from a wholesale lack of enforcement.

Oversight and enforcement costs money...taxpayer money! Few want to expand oversight, because that would mean more taxes going into that, instead of into tax cuts or into other federal programs. In fact, over the past 35 years, staffs have been slashed for oversight and enforcement in these areas. And the corporate cheaters thrive!

Libertarian philosophy: smaller government and less regulation. This is what you get with laissez-faire capitalism.

This is what you get with an Obama administration.

Hey Paul how many of JP Morgan's leaders are going to be prosecuted for looking the other way at Bernie Madoff's schemes? Oh yeah that's right. None! A good thing those regulations did.

Ok so what you're saying is it's ok for them to pay fines (only about 600 million is going towards the victims who lost about 50 billions) yet no one is going to be prosecuted.

You're ok with that?

I thought you were the one saying the bankers should be in jail. I see no jail time.

You're ok with the victims only getting about 1/10th of what they lost and those who looked the other way getting no jail time?

Nonetheless, the solution can't be more government. We already have what's arguably the most expensive and wasteful government on Earth. And it's clearly doing little in the way of effective oversight. Any review of employment policies in the average government regulatory agency would reveal why that is.

Why don't you scroll up and answer my question. It is a valid one.

What in all heck are you talking about? We're talking about insider trading. Some farcical "Consumer Financial Protection Bureau" has nothing to do with that.

Big Labor philosophy: big government and more regulation. This is what you get with hands on unionism.

What the hell are these WSPD whiners complaining about? They lose 1% of their COLA on their pensions and they cry. Let's see here they work twenty years get a defined pension with Cost of living? OMG! Most workers like Fred get to work till they drop trying to scratch two nickels together for the 401K. These people need to grow up and get another job at the ripe old age of 38!

Hey Fred got this IPad for Christmas and downloaded the IHeart App. The damn ClearChannel program has not a one program that I listen to. Seems they purged the country of all progressive programing last year. WTF! Why are they afraid of diversity? Well I deleted the IHeart App since I won't be listening to it. Hooked up with TuneIn http://tunein.com/radio/Progressive-Talk-c57925/ get it all on their.

when NANCY PELOSI (a DEMOCRAT) was caught doing insider trading based on secret info that congress has, but us little people don't?

I mean, it was all over TV, and Pelosi's "bububububu..." response was hilarious. I don't think public tv is in any way going to stop or affect insider trading, when after all, congress is doing it all the time.

PBS comes up with a few good things - for example the special "Under our Skin", which exposes how the regulatory agencies don't do their jobs and allow themselves to be compromised in many ways (read "bought off"). That program was about how the medical profession itself is compromised, and thousands are suffering with disease, because of the corruption - of doctors and the agencies. The honest docs are persecuted into losing their practices. But "Under our Skin" is the exception. Most PBS programs have to go through vetting by political liberals, And the result is predictable.

I had to exit, google, and return to edit. LYME DISEASE... that's the topic of "Under Our Skin". Long long treatment with doxycycline is the treatment that has worked for the worst sufferers. But the doctors who use this treatment are being attacked. Doesn't matter that their patients get well. Bought-off "experts" are not only disagreeing, they have been bought off, primarily by insurance companies. They go after the successful doctors in this field. They say, among other lies, that there is no such thing as lyme disease, even though many have died from this affliction. The video was fascinating. I'm not sure it's a good idea to post this link, but here goes (the "blurbs" on this page don't really reflect what you learn in the actual program... PBS has run it at least 3 or 4 times, and I watch, fascinated every time.)

(How it escaped the liberal PBS censors, I can't guess.)
