According to Forbes' analysis of Census data, six of the top ten richest counties in the USA are suburbs or exurbs of Washington DC.

And I believe most of the wealthy around Washington are defense lobbyists/contractors.

I have lived in the DC area and I can say while lobbyists do live in the area and inflate the salaries around the area I find it hard to believe the majority are defense lobbyists.

It stands to reason that the firms that spend the most lobbying are most likely the ones with the highest salaries in the area.
