Quote from article:
"ISTANBUL -- Workers around the world united in anger during May Day rallies Wednesday, expressing fury in Europe over austerity measures that have cut wages, reduced benefits and eliminated many jobs altogether and rage in Asia over relentlessly low pay, the rising cost of living and hideous working conditions that have left hundreds dead in recent months."

From Wikipedia;

"International Workers' Day, also known as May Day, is a celebration of the international labour movement. May 1 is a national holiday in more than 80 countries and celebrated unofficially in many other countries."

"May Day has long been a focal point for demonstrations by various socialist, communist and anarchist groups commemorating the 1886 Haymarket affair in Chicago."

"We're all riding on the Hindenburg, no sense fighting over the window seats"-Richard Jenni

Always thought it was a communist holiday like when the russians would parade their military might through red square.

http://www.marxists.org/history/etol/writers/souvar/works/1920/04/29.htm

"Since the foundation of the Communist International, containing all the revolutionary forces of the world proletariat, the international manifestation of May Day has taken on a character of working-class solidarity which it never possessed before. "

"Previously, when the Second International had resolved to choose the first day of May as the occasion to affirm the universal fraternity of the workers, the annual demonstration of the exploited of every country was a luminous symbol. But the Second International shed itself of its revolutionary spirit, and sunk more and more in opportunism, whilst the general strike of the May Day also lost its revolutionary spirit, for which was substituted an overweening concern for the “practical.” And during the war when, more than ever, the solidarity of the proletariat was a pressing necessity, when Imperialism intensified the oppression and the exploitation of the producing class, the International backed out, and its weakening parties traitorously renounced the traditional celebration of May Day."

It's meaning changed during the Russian Revolution, when Commies took over.

"In the dark days of the war, which saw the submission of the peoples to their dominant oligarchies, the Russian Revolution, voicing the international popular demands, sounded the awakening of the proletariat, resuscitated its class-consciousness, and stimulated its energies. May Day 1917 saw in Russia an inspiring manifestation of which the echo has resounded through the two worlds."

Don't blame me,
I didn't vote for a
socialist.

will top $2 MILLION alone....when unionist's cannot slow production , steal from their employers, or damage their employer's property...they bring their innate destructive genetic criminal Nature , to where they Live ?!

Typical brain pattern of a leftist inculcated morons...the 60's inner city riots are similar in there dissolution.

May Day in America is a union celebration of a union riot over 100 years ago.

Nothing has changed, they are still corrupt and violent.

I should also note this is not the first "celebration" of May Day in America that has turned violent.
