Paul Ryan's Budget-most extreme corporate welfare

Paul Ryan Budget Proposal Passes House Vote

"It calls for transforming Medicare from a program in which the government directly pays medical bills into a voucher-like system that subsidizes purchases of private insurance plans. People 55 and over would remain in the current system, but younger workers would receive subsidies that would steadily lose value over time."

Paul Ryan's Budget Proposal: Analysis Of The Numbers [UPDATE]

No votes yet

in 3.5 Fascist years of Obozo and his job killing, retirement stealing, home devaluing , gas above $3.55 for 42 months straight, economic NIGHTMARE !
And this ignoramus is concerned with one mans BOOK ?!

PRIORITIES to American haters is as WACKO, as their brains are.

I heard that Champion Spark Plug, Dura, AP Parts, Haughton Elevator, B & B Box, Beveridge Euipment Co., and the rest of the 67,000 great paying jobs are coming back to this area !

Laughing as hard as possible at the stupidity of this jackass...

Something must be done to fix Medicare, but this is not the way. The "way" is to make cuts, and to implement them fairly. That people 55 and over are excluded, isn't fair, and is pure vote pandering. It's pure fail, and moral people should not support this plan.

I can tell you right now that any voucher I'd get would be a useless piece of paper that I'd never use. A bad deal is still a bad deal, and the vouchers would just push up premiums. The end result is more of this trying to force people into the private insurance system.

Paul Ryan's voting record. Does it match his rhetoric? Not!

UPDATED: Six Things to Know About Ryan (and Romney)
http://www.tnr.com/blog/plank/106029/ryan-romney-vp-budget-cuts-medicare...

Quote:

Many millions of working-age Americans would lose health insurance. Senior citizens would anguish over whether to pay their rent or their medical bills, in a way they haven’t since the 1960s. Government would be so starved of resources that, by 2050, it wouldn’t have enough money for core functions like food inspections and highway maintenance. And the richest Americans would get a huge tax cut.

This is the America that Paul Ryan envisions. And now we know that it is the America Mitt Romney envisions.

Statements made are the opinion of the writer who is exercising his first amendment right to freedom of speech. Freedom of speech in the United States is protected by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution and are generally permitted.

Many millions of working-age Americans were going to lose their health insurance anyway, since they were going to be priced out of it. The "alternative" now is a government threat against you to obtain insurance (or pay a tax). So people will be forced to pay, or pay; one is merely less than the other, but it comes with no health insurance.

Sadly, what's really going to develop is an even greater reliance on ERs, which will cause even more of them to close. Americans will see that if they don't want to bankrupt themselves with paying ever larger (and already huge) premiums, then they will have to wait for as long as they dare before seeking care, and then just dump themselves on the nearest ER, run up a huge bill, and then file for bankruptcy.

Even more sadly, is how many will choose to bankrupt themselves the slow way, with those massive premiums.

The system is broken since there's no cost control, and Obamacare did nothing whatsoever to fix that, and in fact added another Byzantine layer to the care model that it will be even more grossly expensive and dysfunctional (hence broken) than before.

Some facts:

1. Most of the people who bankrupt, cite medical expenses as the cause.
2. Most of the people who bankrupt due to medical expenses, were already health insured at the time that the event that generated those medical expenses.
3. More and more Americans and their employers are being priced out of health insurance plans.

This puts the squeeze on ERs and will eventually cause a crisis of government, where the states and perhaps the feds will finally op for direct ER funding (as if they had the money in the first place, but I digress). At that point, we will go deeper into the socialized-medicine model, but in the most roundabout, dishonest and expensive way. The USA is going to remain the most expensive nation on earth for care, per capita. No other nation even comes close in that metric.

1. It caters to the 1%.

Ryan’s proposed tax cuts for the rich are larger than the windfall they received from former President George W. Bush.

2. It ends Medicare as we know it.

The budget would move toward a privatization of Medicare…and anyone new to the Medicare program could see costs rise by nearly $6,000 by 2050.

3. It eliminates the health care safety net.

The budget would cost 47 million people their health insurance benefits over the next decade.

4. It increases unemployment.

The House budget seeks to balance the deficit on the backs of unemployed Americans, whose ranks would increase under the plan.

5. It threatens our economic competitiveness.

The plan slashes $871 billion from government investments in education, job training, scientific research and transportation infrastructure over the next decade.

6. It showers money on Big Oil.

The budget would continue to shower oil companies with $40 billion in tax breaks over 10 years.

7. It devastates Social Security.

The House budget would cut Social Security benefits for most recipients, while giving the wealthy a windfall.

8. It shortchanges K–12 education.

The budget proposal lumps spending on education, social programs and training into a category targeted with a 20 percent cut.

9. It shortchanges higher education.

Low-income and middle-class students…may find it harder to get financial aid: The budget proposes big cuts to the Pell Grant program.

10. It ignores the wishes of the American people.

About two-thirds of Americans think the rich should pay higher taxes. And 70 percent believe Medicare should continue operating as it does currently….The plan ignores the will of the people, favoring the wealthy while ending Medicare as we know it.

Trick question. They haven't passed a real budget for some time. But they sure do like borrowing 40% of what they spend, and keep passing bills to spend, spend, spend.

....help me with the numbers !!!!

and you vote for all of these D- politicians who have deprived their constituents of food, clothing, medicine, cable TV, cell phones, hoodies, BIG screen TV's, that welfare could have bought them ?!

Corporate Welfare, oh the shame ....

YEEEHAAAAA, its the CRAZEEE Season !

Yeah, like we're all for a culture of dependency, high unemployment (not the 8.2% we always hear from the media but the U-6 number, over 15%) and diminished living standards that were getting right now from the Democrats.

toledojim

You and your right wing extremists have ruined this country toledojim. Culture of dependency is just the latest right wing dog whisle to get clowns like you to stand up and take notice. This whole economy had been destroyed over the last twenty years of corporate welfare, corporate control of our political system and outsourcing our economy so 1 percenters like Romney benefited while the rest of us lost. Both parties are corporately owned. The Republican more so than the Dems. You look at silly utube videos here on SB of black people living in poverty and think the worst while the real poverty pimps control your government. What a fool you are

And, you vote for these heartless dogs ?!

You're not allowed to whine about republican budgets.....your guy hasn't passed a budget in nearly 4 years. He can't even get a vote from his own party.

Apparently something happened while I was visiting the Grand Canyon and Red Rock NP.

If you haven't taken that trip I highly recommend it.

Oh, and wolfman is still spewing the same old lame lines as usual. I'd say he needs a vacation but he is always on one from reality.

Just got back from Alaska a few weeks ago. Visited Wasilla where Palin claims to see Russia from her back door. Well I can tell you MikeyA Wasilla is a suburb of Anchorage, in the middle of the state hundreds of miles from Russia. Wasilla was the only place in Alaska that I found graffiti sprayed on the sides of buildings. Oh the Alaskans are full of Ron Paul supporters. Think they don't need any government. Wasilla and Anchorage are much like any Midwest cities of 300,000 people but with bears and moose. By-the-way Alaska has a total population of 600,000.

Alaskans have a massive resource base in petroleum alone; that gives them the idea that they don't need government. And they don't. They have no outside threats. They have petroleum. They have vast timber resources, and whatever else that's there that I don't feel like looking up in the Alaska wiki. Probably some metal mines. And the fishing, at least outside of Prince William Sound, which was pretty much ruined for a century by the Exxon-Valdez spill.

Alaska should just send a delegation to Canada to establish sovereign relations, and then just borrow a computer to send an email to thekenyan@whitehouse.gov to tell Obama that his original over-estimation of the 57 states is off by one more now. If I was the High Potentate of the People's Syndicracy of Alaska, I'd give half of that SE coastal leg of Alaska to Canada in exchange for a mutual defense pact in case the USN's Pacific groups got frisky.

Actually GZ Alaskans receive a $1000 dollar dividend for each resident a year. This comes from oil and gas.

Ooooh, if we cut one of the 57 Feed the Poor Programs, overweight slobs in the Dim Party, might lose weight ?!
Ooooh, if we cut one of the 54 Federal Jobs Programs, a lazy Dim might actually have to WORK !
Ooooh, if we cut one of 63 Federal College For Free Programs, Dims might actually have to PAY for their college instead of tax payers !

etc.
etc.
etc.
Get ready to hear the whining, moaning, and screaming from the tax and waste crowd radical job killers, net worth killers, if anything is done to get out Federal Budget, back to a balanced one when the adult R's, controlled spending 1996-2001, when Slick Willy, COULDN'T !!!

In the coming Syndicracy, they'd still share in the proceeds as shareholders. You don't need government to redistribute. Or did you imagine that Alaska thus freed would become like a ducal fief, a feudal society? If so, I'd have used the term KINGDOM, right? Note that I did not.

My first act as High Potentate would be to put people like you into mandatory education camps. I won't say "re-education" since you obviously lacked the necessary economic education in the first place. Time to do it right.

IF you did indeed visit Alaska and only visited the cities of Anchorage and Wasilla then I pity you because you missed a great opportunity.

MikeyA

TOLEDO Politicians- give away the farm to a foreign corporation ?!
An Italian corporation at THAT !?
How can that be, screams local net worth killers!!

So, an economic dunce doesn't know what he crybabies about when FACTS, hit it in the face !

Dissolute dildos are a bane to logical folks...

after reading this LIAR'S, stolen material ?

If so, and you have the idiocy to admit it...do so NOW !
