The right-to-work Southern strategy has been growing like creeping kudzu from the Jim Crow backwaters of the Old South. Our founding fathers are proof.

Maybe it's because I'm using an iPad, but I can't seem to view/access what is posted--but after reading the headline--that's probably a good thing. As Ohio pursues becoming a right-to-work state, we'll be hearing more of this Jim Crow malarkey. The fact is, as someone who is forced to pay union dues even though I've chosen not to join, I'm all for no mandatory union membership and dues-paying--it'll mean a raise for me!

I think unions are a good thing. That being said, I believe they need serious change in the way they operate. If they are as good as they purport to be, they shouldn't be afraid of giving people a choice.

It can't be a bad thing to assert a person's natural liberties, one of which is the freedom to be employed.

No, if you're in a union shop, you pay to the union. It protects you. Your fathers and grandfathers understood that.

Patience is a great virtue.

To some extent, but again you can't see past your nose, Wal-Mart has no union activity, Sam Walton was a superstar. Copper Tire.....oops

The union doesn't own that shop, Don. Or any shop. Have you ever heard of property rights? Googling those might be helpful.

I didn't say the union "owns" the shop, GZ. I said the union is a collective of workers, a "union shop," where protection of employee rights is uppermost. And what do you mean by "property rights," that workers are somehow chattel?

Patience is a great virtue.
